Another round of backlogged Skyrim catchup, for the tail end of Finds-The-Way’s playthrough! Lots of side questing on Solstheim here, mostly featuring hunting netches, but also Deathbrand action!
Also includes some opinions on Teldryn Sero, and how exactly the Morag Tong know this Dragonborn is in the Brotherhood anyway.

Time to swing back around to Finds-The-Way, to try to catch up some more on her Skyrim playthrough. This post is mostly familiar territory, since it involved moving the Dawnguard plot further along, and in particular running the Soul Cairn. So the main interesting content here is the language geekery! Enjoy!

Still working on clearing side quests in Kendis’ journal in Skyrim, before I send her off to Solstheim to go toe to toe with Miraak! Mostly, this meant becoming thane in the Reach, getting Vlindrel Hall, and doing a bunch more fishing to get the overall Fishing quest lines finished up, including defeating a giant spirit crab in Dawnstar.

Main action in these sessions: getting started with Dawnguard, and in fact making serious inroads on the plot, getting all the way through running the Soul Cairn and getting Valerica’s Elder Scroll. And in between all of this, I kept bouncing back to Whiterun trying to spawn the Traveler. Which did in fact finally help me solve the problem with Carlotta and Mila being stuck!
Meanwhile, I also picked up the thaneship in Winterhold! For free, pretty much, since I’d already helped enough people and had put the new Jarl into power by way of winning the war.
And last but not least, I got onto the trail of finding the Dragon scroll, needed not only for Dawnguard, but for the main plot as well.

Previous playthroughs established that getting through the Forgotten Vale is a multi-session endeavor, and this time was no exception! Still, Faanshi and Serana made good progress, reached a couple more of the Wayshrines, and took out the twin dragons under the ice.

I had thought I was going to proceed onward to Forgotten Vale in this session, once I got the location of Auriel’s Bow in Ancestor Glade. I was mistaken! Instead, I ran the rest of Sorine’s “find me a schematic” quests.

Another double session, covering play done on Saturday 4/23 and Sunday 4/24. Main action: running Benkongerike (and picking up the Black Market power!), running phase three of Kolbjorn Barrow, then doing a grand tour of Skyrim to a) do a loot selling run, and b) work my way over to Lost Valley Redoubt so I could inspect a briarheart for Neloth.

This session was mostly all about returning to Blackreach and getting the rest of the crimson nirnroot (and, in the process, discovering that at least one bug in Skyrim does have a viable workaround!).
Wound up also having two different dragon encounters that resulted in NPC death and from which I rolled back. And I started the quest to get Volendrung as well.
