In Which Elessir Clears Shriekwind Bastion

All of the action in this post is stuff I’ve played through before, so not much in the way of new Skyrim commentary here; this post is mostly language commentary on the German run I’m doing with Finds-The-Way. Overall action here though is getting Mehrunes’ Razor and Azura’s Star.

Swinging back around to my Skyrim run in German, here’s a couple more sessions with Finds-The-Way! Main action here: getting Dawnbreaker; finishing up the Daedra’s Best Friend plot; taking out zombies at the necromancer ritual site; taking out the dragon at Ancient’s Ascent; and last but not least, running Ustengrav. Where Finds did not get the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller.

This session of Skyrim Together Reborn saw Dara, Mel, and me getting our asses kicked (but finally prevailing!) at Shearpoint… and then trying extremely hard to get the Break of Dawn quest started. With epically complicated results.

In Which Harrowhark Has a Bit of a Reset
Apr. 13th, 2023 09:14 pmThis is a multi-session post, but it actually replicated some of the action I did in running Moonpath to Elsweyr. Because y’all may recall that at the end of my Moonpath to Elsweyr post, I reported seeing some crashing behavior on the way out of the area set up by the mod.
This behavior has, unfortunately, persisted. And investigating what was going on caused me to have to roll back a bit, as I will detail under the fold.

And with this post, Harrowhark has officially begun work for her new associates of the Dark Brotherhood. So that was actually kind of fun in the shady-as-fuck being-an-assassin way. And I’ll be intrigued to see how the drama building internally to the Brotherhood plays through, particularly in conjunction with the additions from the Dark Brotherhood for Good Guys mod.

Bards College catchup! I restored the Burning of King Olaf Festival, and then went off to fetch the first of the instruments needed for Kendis to get all the skill bumps from the teachers there.

This was a big crunchy session, in which I wound up doing a lot more in the vicinity of Dawnstar than previously planned! Main goal was initially to reach Driftshade Refuge and avenge the killing of Kodlak, but I wound up doing the entire nightmares plot in Dawnstar as well just because traveling in Survival Mode is annoying in the cold parts of the map.

If you’re looking at this post going “hey, didn’t Harrowhark also just get the thaneship of Falkreath, and Lakeview Manor, and the Masque of Clavicus Vile?”, you are correct. This is kind of what happens when you’re doing two parallel playthroughs, it’s very easy for them to fall into similar patterns!
Aside from those two things, though, I also raided Faldar’s Tooth and actually saw more of that particular bandit hideout than I ever had done before, so that was cool!

Double session post! Main action here: achieving the thaneship in Falkreath; reaching Haemar’s Shame and getting the directive to fetch the Rueful Axe; taking out the bandits at Treva’s Watch; buying the land for Lakeview Manor, and beginning its building; fetching the Rueful Axe from Rimerock Burrow, and then delivering it to Clavicus Vile to get him to take Barbas back; acquiring the sword Dawnfang and Duskfang from the depths of the Ratway; getting Grelod the Kind arrested for abusing her charges; and last but not least, acquiring a Khajiit companion with extremely odd ideas about why he needed to voluntarily commit himself to the Riften jail.

Double-session Kendis post, to clear out the queue! Main action here, running the Blessings of Nature quest and getting the Gildergreen renewed. But a side helping of journal recovery, zombie fighting, and finally getting a steward for Goldenhills Plantation.

Double session post, in which the overall theme is “doing quests for the Thieves Guild”, and seeing how the Thieves Guild Alternate Routes mod impacts things!

This was a long, busy session in which quite a bit happened: going to Falkreath and getting in good with the Jarl by killing a bandit chieftain for him; clearing out zombies at a ritual site; getting Nettlebane, and then later, acquiring a sapling to replace the ailing Gildergreen; finishing out the furnishing of Breezehome; getting Vilja some help with her mysterious bottle; and last but not least, picking up a new follower, Lucien!
This is a big post with a lot of commentary and a lot of screenshots. Because not only did I find Lucien and try him out as a follower, I also actively decided against keeping Vilja, because she annoys the fuck out of me.

Y’know how I said at the tail end of Shenner’s last post that I was probably going to do something either in the Reach in general or Markarth in particular? Looks like the winds of whim dictated otherwise, because what I wound up doing instead was running the Blessings of Nature and Black Star plots, both of which are familiar territory, but which I had yet to do with this alt. Also did some fishing–and adopted Lucia from Whiterun as my first adopted child!

In Which Shenner Acquires Mehrunes’ Razor
Jul. 3rd, 2022 10:21 pmVery eventful session! Mostly all about acquiring the pieces of Mehrunes’ Razor and then assembling it, but also with a side helping of the beginning of the Crypt of the Heart quest, which will lead me to get Ebony Spell Knight armor!
Also, I unlocked Daedric and Dragon Smithing! \0/

Fairly eventful session, even though a good bit of it went to discovering that I am not yet ready to take on the bandit boss at Traitor’s Post. What I did accomplish: getting a few more quest pointers! Building out the rest of Goldenhills Plantation! Taking care of the skooma dealer problem in Riften—and getting Laila Law-Giver to offer me a thaneship!

Very eventful session, chock full of new things, including doing more fishing, getting several more interesting plot hooks, and most notably, acquiring a farm near Rorikstead! But at the same time, I also went off to join the mage college. Gotta learn from somebody how to use all these spells I’m picking up!

Big, busy session with a lot of action in it, a mix of old stuff and new stuff! Main highlights: ran Ustengrav; went to Kynesgrove with Delphine and slew Sahloknir; acquired the new version of the dragonscale armor; slew the dragon and the Dragon Priest Krosis at Shearpoint; got a new bunny pet; and got the orcish plate armor you can get by clearing Embershard Mine and investigating the orc smith there!
This session was run on Saturday 5/28.

In Which Faanshi Hunts for Ingredients
May. 25th, 2022 08:51 pmA lower-key session with my Khajiit, as I wanted to take some time to do a bit of training and gold gathering, before trying more combat again! So I worked on gathering ingredients for quests with Ingun and Balimund (but also bought the hilt of Mehrunes’ Razor).
