When I see a National Weather Service winter storm warning hovering over my immediate area, y'know what I expect to see show up with it?

SNOW.

No sign of new snow yet here in Kenmore. I'm informed that Kirkland is clear, too, so my medical appointments for the morning are still on. The Times says this morning that the Seattle metropolitan area apparently managed to escape snow overnight due to a "shadow effect" of the Olympics, and that practically everybody around us got snow instead. Which is why the Seattle school districts are closed. (Yeah, I don't get it either.)

Anyway, off to medical appointments and then possibly to shopping. We'll see if any snow shows up while I'm out.

I think the Seattle schools (and other schools without snow) are closed because they're worried about snow later in the day because it's still supposed to snow later, and they're concerned they won't be able to get kids home in the afternoon.

Also, bah, the snow petered out here. The forecast thinks it'll come back later tonight, but as we have already seen, it is FULL OF LIES!

Oh hell's bells, it's snowing again. Started out as rain, turned to sleet and now the white crap is plaguing me again. ARGH

It's finally started here, now. We had some sleety-haily sort of stuff kick in around 4, and now it's shifted over to genuine snow. There's a whole mess of slush on the street in front of our house, though, and I expect that to turn into one big solid mass of suck.
