I got asked to deploy Faerie Blood to the Norwegian iTunes store today, so I have gone ahead and done that! And because I could, I also deployed to the Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and Ireland iTunes stores. I will keep adding new iTunes stores by request if people want ‘em, so if I don’t have your country covered yet, by all means, folks, talk to me! I have updated the Faerie Blood page with the new direct iTunes links.

Meanwhile, a new confirmed Paypal sale means I have 14 copies left for general sale out of the first print run. I have a total of ten open requests for copies, for which I have not yet received actual payment–but I will continue to give priority to paying customers. So if you want a copy, please do pay me sooner rather than later, to guarantee you’ll get one out of this first batch! If you don’t make this batch and you still want one anyway, also let me know about that so that I can start getting an estimate of how many I’ll need for a second print run.

And don’t forget, you guys–I also have two print copies (as well as two ebook copies) up for grabs in the still-open Faerie Blood giveaway! I have a nice little number of entries in that now, but do please keep spreading the word, and do keep those entries coming! The entry pool’s still pretty small, though, so if you jump in, your chances ARE good right now!

Happy July 4th, (American portion of the) Internets! Because it’s the Day of Things Exploding, and it’s generally a good day for bright shiny things, and because that the second edition of Faerie Blood has been released out into the world, I feel now is an excellent time to run me a contest for the book! I’m going to give away two print copies AND two ebook copies. Yes folks, that’s a total of FOUR. Because this book is mine mine mine, and because I CAN. But y’all are going to have to work for ‘em!

Here are the rules!

I will be running this giveaway for the next two weeks, starting today, ending July 18th. Winners of print copies, if local to me, will have their copies hand-delivered to them before I leave on my Canada vacation on July 23rd. Winners of print copies NOT local to me will have them mailed off before that same date. Winners of ebook copies will have the option of any or all of the formats created for my Kickstarter backers (EPUB, PDF, or MOBI).

I will announce winners on July 19th. Winners of print copies not local to me will need to provide me their snailmail addresses at that time. Winners of ebook copies will need to specify what format they want (or if they want all of them), and give me a valid email address to which to send the book. Info will need to be provided within 48 hours of the contest winner announcement, or else I’ll draw a different winner from the contest pool!

Winners of print copies, your print copies WILL be signed. You will need to tell me whether to sign them for you or to someone else, if you want to give the book to a friend or family member! If you want to give an ebook copy to somebody else, you can do that too!

And here’s what you need to do!

At bare minimum, you should drop a comment on this post (either the original post on angelakorrati.com, or its mirrors on LJ or Dreamwidth) and I will add you to the random pool of names from which I’ll draw.

If you do any of the following actions, I will give you an extra entry in the random pool, which will up your chances of winning. If I don’t actually see you doing this because I don’t follow you on the pertinent network, provide me a link or a screenshot by way of evidence! And yes, if you do more than one of these activities, you will get a chance for every activity you do.

For extra bonus chances to win, if you do anything creative pertaining to Faerie Blood and this contest, that will win you FIVE extra entries in the draw! ‘Anything creative’ includes but is not limited to:

• Comments on contest posts that eloquently pitch why you MUST have a copy of this book, even if you already have one. But you have to be extremely eloquent. Make your argument count!
• Sketches/artwork of any characters in the cast or situation in the book!
• Filk lyrics pertinent to any character or situation in the cast, or the Warder universe in general!
• Poetry! I am partial to haikus and sonnets.
• Fic of any length clearly set in the Warder universe–does not need to involve the Faerie Blood cast! (Note: keep it rated PG-13, please, in keeping with the overall style of the novel.)
• Surprise me! But remember, it’s GOT to be an creative activity. Sculpture in LEGOS! Cake! Knitting! Whatever it is, you have to make something, and it’s got to be pertinent to Faerie Blood and/or the Warder universe.

Any act of creativity must be posted somewhere I can see it, and you will need to provide me a link to it in the comments of the contest post or of its mirrors. And since the creative activities are harder and require more effort, and also because they are worth more chances in the random pool, limit one per entrant, please!

Also, I will specifically showcase the awesomeness of any creative activity, even if you don’t win, in future posts on this blog. If you’re somebody engaged in your own creative work, consider this an opportunity to promote yourself! I will link you RIGHT UP and tell people to go check you out!

Right then, sorry about not posting this yesterday, y’all, but this is what I get for being smacked upside the head with a 36-or-so-hour bug. I spent most of yesterday sleeping!

But now it’s time to announce the winner of my little Safe Upon the Shore of Faerie contest! Since I had only three entries, but since all three entrants offered more than just one of the options I suggested of title, caption, and drabble, I’m actually going to offer one main prize and two backup prizes!

Y’all know what banishes the sting of two rejection letters in one week? A CONTEST, that’s what!

If you’ve hung around my other blog or its LJ or Dreamwidth mirrors for more than five minutes, you’ll have figured out fast that I’m a raving fangirl for Great Big Sea, a high-energy Celtic/folk band out of Newfoundland. I love these guys with the fiery passion of a thousand burning suns. I particularly love them right now, because on July 13th, they’re going to put out a brand new album.

And this is where you guys come in! When they announced the album’s release date, they also released a shot of the cover art. The very first thing that popped into my head when I saw it was “gosh, that looks like the cover of a novel, I wonder what the story of those two people is!” And I want all of you to tell me!

You can see the cover art right here, since the album’s available for preorder on Amazon. Go take a look. Then come back and give me one of the following:

1. A hypothetical title for the novel this scene might come from
2. A caption describing the scene
3. A drabble-length description of the scene (that’s 100 words, for those of you not familiar with fanfic terminology)

Bonus points will be awarded for clever humor, use of any element of the Faerie Blood universe, or anything referenced in the titles or lyrics of Great Big Sea songs. Extra bonus points will be given for use of more than one of these!

The winner of the contest will receive either a copy of the album, a copy of Faerie Blood, or a copy of Defiance, their choice!

If the winner chooses the album, I will either buy them a copy directly off of greatbigsea.com, or else send a gift certificate to the vendor of their choice from which they may purchase it themselves. If the winner chooses a physical CD, I will require a snailmail address to which to send it.

If the winner chooses either of my books, I will provide an electronic copy of same in the format of their choice.

Announcement the first: It has come to my attention that a shiny new release by Seattle author mdhenry, Battle of the Network Zombies, is being given away on both Amazon and Barnes and Noble’s ebook sites. So if you’re a Kindle or Nook owner, you might want to scamper over to your site of choice and grab this third installment of the Amanda Feral series! Then, if you really like it, go buy the print version. Because Seattle authors are awesome that way.

Announcement the second: Drollerie is participating in an auction for diabetes, being held by romantic suspense author Brenda Novak. Lots of tasty goodies are being put up for bid, stuff that should appeal to writers and readers alike, and it’s all for a good cause.
