NO MOVIE FOR YOU--at least, not tonight
Nov. 30th, 2004 06:56 pmOkay, so Volt told all of us folks contracting for 'em, "Free movie for you on the 30th! Go to the Crossroads theater! Bring a guest! The movie and snacks are on us!" The movie in question was to be National Treasure, and neither
solarbird nor I were particularly interested in paying to see that flick. But free? With free snackies? Not a problem!
The info we were mailed out said the movie was to start at 5:30pm. We got there around 5:20--only to discover that the theater was already full, because apparently there was a much bigger turnout than Volt had expected, and there was a sizeable crowd of people still hanging around outside looking vaguely disgruntled. But only vaguely, because the Volt reps did cut a fast deal with the management to get us all vouchers to see a free movie at any Regal cinema. So even though Dara and I didn't get to see the movie we were aiming for tonight, we still get to see a movie on Volt's nickel.
So not a total loss. Will just have to figure out what movie to see, and when, and where.

That is good. I am not sure what all good is supposed to be out there... I haven't been to the movies since I went to see Spiderman 2

Or you could go for the pretty and see Ocean's 12. Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon. Lots of pretty.

Date: 2004-12-02 03:04 am (UTC)I'll ponder the first recommendation, though, thank you. :) What will actually determine what I get to go see, I think, is going to be where I can spend the vouchers. They're only good for a specific chain of theaters, so I'm pretty much limited to whatever they're playing. Also limited to the ones of that chain that I can get to on the weekends. We'll see what we come up with!
