Okay, so Volt told all of us folks contracting for 'em, "Free movie for you on the 30th! Go to the Crossroads theater! Bring a guest! The movie and snacks are on us!" The movie in question was to be National Treasure, and neither [livejournal.com profile] solarbird nor I were particularly interested in paying to see that flick. But free? With free snackies? Not a problem!

The info we were mailed out said the movie was to start at 5:30pm. We got there around 5:20--only to discover that the theater was already full, because apparently there was a much bigger turnout than Volt had expected, and there was a sizeable crowd of people still hanging around outside looking vaguely disgruntled. But only vaguely, because the Volt reps did cut a fast deal with the management to get us all vouchers to see a free movie at any Regal cinema. So even though Dara and I didn't get to see the movie we were aiming for tonight, we still get to see a movie on Volt's nickel.

So not a total loss. Will just have to figure out what movie to see, and when, and where.

This wouldn't be the same Volt that does the software, etc. that Verizon uses, would it? (just curious)

That is good. I am not sure what all good is supposed to be out there... I haven't been to the movies since I went to see Spiderman 2

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou!

From the maker of Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums. ;) Hilarity in a speedo!

Or you could go for the pretty and see Ocean's 12. Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon. Lots of pretty.

I take it your Volt rep didn't forward the follow-up email that said the movie started at 5:15, huh? (Actually, I think it _did_ start at 5:30 after all: I didn't check my watch to confirm.)
