Yet another person, one of the folks on Two Moons who read over Faerie Blood for me, has compared my writing style to Laurell K. Hamilton. I do not consider this a bad thing, given that I do actually kind of like her writing style even if I am annoyed at her hard left turn into "soft porn with a light smattering of actual plot on top" land. I actually derive more inspiration from Tanya Huff and Jim Butcher, but well hey, Jim's been compared to both Tanya Huff and Laurell K. Hamilton, so if I'm in that ballpark, I'm a happy camper. ;)

I am also growing amused at the number of my friends who are writers or writer hopefuls. There's [livejournal.com profile] mizkit and [livejournal.com profile] shadowhwk, everybody on [livejournal.com profile] scuzzboppers, [livejournal.com profile] dementia42, [livejournal.com profile] xionin, Rod who isn't actually on LJ, and another friend by the name of Deby who used to run the offline Telgar Weyr and is going the small press route with HER first novel. This is the same level of amusement I've had from discovering the number of musically inclined friends I've got, too.

I seem to be acquainted with a large number of disguised bards.

Dunno if I count as friend outside of LJ, but I have four filk albums out, and am writing a comic script :)

LJ seems to be full of more or less frustrated writers. It felt as if half my friends list was participating in NaNoWriMo or at least wanting to. It felt kind of strange to not have that particular itch to scratch. :-)

OTOH, I'm one of veritable hordes of amateur photographers on LJ, so maybe I shouldn't talk. :-)

I misread that as "I seem to be acquainted with a large number of disgusted bards."

I guess I don't count as disguised, as I have a nasty habit of reading my poetry in public. :)

I'm also a b&w photographer. Interesting set of overlaps.

Just to add to the mix, I also study yoga.

If that's soft porn, I am afraid of hard. :)

Not me. I write nonfiction, I lecture. Hardly bardlike.

But I do have a book out!

(No, there will not be a quiz. ;)
