Observations
Apr. 27th, 2004 09:18 amYet another person, one of the folks on Two Moons who read over Faerie Blood for me, has compared my writing style to Laurell K. Hamilton. I do not consider this a bad thing, given that I do actually kind of like her writing style even if I am annoyed at her hard left turn into "soft porn with a light smattering of actual plot on top" land. I actually derive more inspiration from Tanya Huff and Jim Butcher, but well hey, Jim's been compared to both Tanya Huff and Laurell K. Hamilton, so if I'm in that ballpark, I'm a happy camper. ;)
I am also growing amused at the number of my friends who are writers or writer hopefuls. There's
mizkit and
shadowhwk, everybody on
scuzzboppers,
dementia42,
xionin, Rod who isn't actually on LJ, and another friend by the name of Deby who used to run the offline Telgar Weyr and is going the small press route with HER first novel. This is the same level of amusement I've had from discovering the number of musically inclined friends I've got, too.
I seem to be acquainted with a large number of disguised bards.
