According to my favorite Russell Crowe fan site, Patrick O'Brien fans (who, quote, "will soon be circling the cinemas like sharks", unquote) are already starting to bitch about Mr. Crowe's weight for the part of Jack Aubrey.
In that he is, in fact, too LIGHT for the role. Since the good Captain is described several times in the books as portly or even fat, fluctuating between 14 and 17 stone.
This may be the first time I've ever heard tell of people bitching that a leading man isn't heavy enough. Me, I think I can cope with this particular exercise of creative license. ;D
