Assorted stuff, Part 2
Oct. 22nd, 2004 12:52 pm+0: Oh yes, speaking of my iPod, doing a full restore to factory settings and copying my collection back down onto it seems to have made the battery behave a lot better. Yay! Also, having copied old backup copies of my files off the thing, I suddenly have 7 extra gigs of space on it. I realized this was a result of having copied my entire My Documents folder onto the device--which of course included, at the time, my entire music collection. So I had backup copies of my music on my music device. ;)

solarbird, I will simply mention that during last night's little exercise in extreme geekiness, she pulled a Nabuki on me. I leave it to fans of Ranma 1/2 to figure out exactly what that meant, but the phrase "Bidding starts at 10,000 yen" was in fact bandied about.

For the Elfquest geeks
Oct. 22nd, 2004 02:58 pmA thought that has crossed my mind now that I'm getting back into roleplay: suppose you have an elf who is capable of Fleshshaping. We know from several examples all over the storyline that such an elf is capable of shaping living flesh, skin, and bones--Winnowill does it countless times as she alters herself, other elves, humans, and animals.
Would it therefore be theoretically possible for an elf capable of this power to shape animal skins into usable clothing, as an alternative to non-magical tanning?
Discuss.
