Ebook drawing contest update!

Folks, I’m seeing a distinct lack of reaction so far to my proposed drawing for a $20 gift certificate! So in order to give y’all more time to maybe get a hold of a Drollerie book and get it properly reviewed, I am hereby extending the contest to the end of this month. That’ll mean you have until October 31st to read and review any Drollerie book–it doesn’t have to be mine!–and get me evidence of your review to get into the drawing.

Spread the word! And don’t forget, all our ebooks are on sale right now over at drolleriepress.com, so you can pick up a lot of ebooks cheap!

And oh yes, since I was asked this on my original contest post: I’ll accept previously posted reviews, I think, if you show me evidence of newly pointing people at said reviews. (Such as on your blog/journal, a forum post, something on Twitter or Facebook, etc.) My goal here is to encourage spreading the word about Drollerie, and previously written reviews, while fabulous, are already out there working to spread the word. I’d like to see new word being spread! And, of course, if you’ve already written reviews of Drollerie work, don’t let this stop you from writing brand new ones of different books.

i decided to hold off on getting Faerie Blood until the sale because boyfriend totalled my car and them my computer went almost dead for awhile, and those both mean obscene amounts of money... but yay i has it now!(and i just downloaded it - the COVER! i thought i wouldn't get the cover, because PDF - but there it is!)

so i hope that i will have a review for you soon. (i could write one on Lament of the Dove lol)

Ouch about the computer and the car! But yay, glad to hear you finally got the book. :) If you can get it read and reviewed by the end of the month, I can put you in the drawing!

The other book you're thinking of is seanan_mcguire's Rosemary and Rue, and yeah, that's worth your time as well. I've already read it, and I'm working on getting my book reviews caught up; my review of R&R should be going live later this week since I'm scheduling them to go up one per day.

thank you - that is exactly the book i was trying to remember. on my list, now.

i have a ton of reading homework, so i am struggling to get to read stuff for fun (which is weird - i've always been a reader more than anything, i read ALL THE TIME, sigh). i *think*, if my computer cooperates, i'll be done by this weekend and be able to write a review. cross your fingers for me! I'm madlt excited to read this book, i just need *time* while my computer works...
push comes to shove, i should have my new computer thursday or friday, so i can reads it over the weekend!

i HAS new shiny computer. it has a full-size keyboard. this will take a bit of adjustment lol

but we are pulling everything we can from the old computer, but it's slow-going :( i should have the book on this computer tomorrow, and i am greatly looking forward to reading it.

its a Gateway NV52. originally, i went to Best Buy (and other places) and this computer was on sale for $550. 4MG RAM, 2GH processor speed, and a NON-INTEGRATED VIDEO CARD that is *designed* for World of Warcraft.
do you know how hard it is to find a laptop with a non-integrated video card? let alone a GOOD video card?

then i found it for even cheaper, even after shipping. of course that turned into a total mess and i got a week and a half later than i should have... but i have it, it's red, and it seems 100% perfect.

ok, it has Vista and i hate Vista. but XP isn't offered at all anymore. OTHER than Vista, it seems perfect :)

I wrote a revew today! Which is to say I finally finished Faerie Blood, having been rationing myself to only reading it when in bed but not so tired as to fall asleep over my netbook.

I liked it a lot. Yay for such a varied cast of highly entertaining characters.
