Just got done watching the BSG finale. I'll post more in depth thoughts about it tomorrow, but for now I want to say this:

Thank you, Battlestar. You've been frustratingly inconsistent a lot of the time--but from the first frame to the last, you've kept me coming back for more.

Thanks for four years of some damn fine entertainment. You're going to be missed so very, very much.

Hey, there are plenty of shows I totally haven't paid attention to, so it's not inconceivable to me that somebody could only just now be getting started on BSG! Hope you enjoy the whole run of it. :)

It feels really weird not having BSG on to watch tonight. solarbird is holding out for Caprica not sucking; I'm afraid of it! But we'll be giving it a shot anyway.

It was ... brutal. Brutal in a way that BSG has the tendency to be, but ... distilled. Concentrated.

I feel like I've been crying for hours at this point. Right now I'm just hoping I can settle my stomach enough that I can sleep.

Yep. That's our BSG! You don't so much enjoy it as survive it.

And we'll be totally missing the punch of it. Man, I hope Caprica won't suck.

MY HUSBAND who hates watching BSG, I usually end up watching it in another room, actually watched this episode all the way through. Even after I left the room so that he would stop his bellyaching. He kept it on anyway...
I noticed they used the original theme in the last credits.

I felt a little cheated by a few things, but I want to let the spoiler post get put up before I comment too much.

I didn't jump in til season 2, because I was incensed with Starbuck being a woman instead of a man. Then I started watching... OMG so much better than the 1970/80s version. And they were smart with ending it the way they did.

So yes, I'll add my So Say We All!

solarbird and I watched the initial miniseries when it aired, and at the time I found Starbuck-as-a-girl too damned weird and the miniseries uneven... but then we watched the third episode of season 1, and that's what sold us. And then of course, the Hugo-award-winning "33"... sniff.

Damn, I'm going to miss this show. And yes, I still need to do the finale writeup. I'll see if I can get that up this weekend, belated though it may be.

Well, see my comment re: "frustratingly inconsistent". But on the whole I will absolutely miss this series very, very much. Even when it wasn't firing on all cylinders, it still engaged me enough that I never wanted to miss an episode. Which is a big accomplishment for me and a TV show these days!
