My boy Russell pleads guilty to assault. Russell honey, you going to behave now? 'Specially since the judge told you point-blank to do so and your wife was right there beside you listening to the judge telling you to behave? Get to work on that, mate.

(Huh. Article's wrong, though, claiming he got an Oscar for A Beautiful Mind. He was nominated, but didn't actually win. About which I distinctly recollect being annoyed at the time!)

Anyway, as I am in a Russell mood and both [livejournal.com profile] tigrelisfleur and I lamented that we didn't have any Russell icons, I made these:

I gotta write something now. ;)

ETA 5:08pm: Okay so I wasn't done yet. Added in the Muse at Work icon because I need me a Russell writing icon, too!

Just heard the news myself about a couple of hours ago as I've been offline all day -- out doing things and was at my Mom's and saw the news on a TV news crawl!

I'm with you. Russell stay out of trouble. Russell -- stay out of New York. Be good, okay? *sigh* (Just glad my prayers were answered).

Well as far as I'm concerned he did win for A Beautiful Mind! The person that won should have an asterisk beside their name (yes I know who won but I was very annoyed at that...and also made to feel like a sellout to my race because I defended Russell's performance *sigh* Long story LOL). Oh sheesh -- don't get me started on THAT again LOL

*sending good thoughts to the best actor of our generation and then some*

I definitely agree.

And next time he's in New York...maybe a nice Homewood Suites or something :-) Although the Ritz-Carlton seems more than happy to have him as a guest (and maybe their staff is nicer).

Well at least he can give some long thought to what this year has been for him...and as you said, relax with his family and take some stock in his life.

Plus that, I'm reading a book right now that I think would make a great project for him with the right writer, director and costar. In fact it has Russell written all over it! (Then we can also talk about the M&C sequel *bg* Hey...I can always hope).

I think you'll knock A Good Year out pretty quick. It's a nice little book -- in fact I read most of it sitting on the Tube, or on the bus ride to and from Portsmouth, or at the airport, or when I was out for a meal and needed something to read.

Jack *sigh* I of course hope and hope and HOPE that we'll one day see a sequel.

Eucalyptus isn't what I'd call a quick read, only because it took me a while to absorb some of the scenes in an attempt to understand them better. I did like the book though but there are so many layers, which is why I knew that putting it on the big screen and being able to do it justice as far as atmosphere and all might prove difficult.

Check Amazon Marketplace for a decent copy of a used book. Even with the shipping they're normally fairly reasonable.

Oh good that you did track down a copy.

I don't think it's a priority now since the movie project is on hold, but whenever you do get around to it (and I think I read it in a week because I was nearly devouring it), I think you'll see what I meant about properly capturing the atmosphere of it. It's not always a "straightforward" story in the terms of what we'd consider a "normally written" novel because there is a lot of unusual atmosphere and there are times when you think one story is being told by the Storyteller, but it has actually segued into something else...and then segued yet again but you can still see the links.

I can see why Russell wasn't happy with the results as they were getting ready to film. If the screenplay was anything like what we'd heard, it was in trouble!

That reminds me.. I have to get back to my icons for actor100.

Just got done watching all the entertainment show coverage of today. What a media frenzy! A few of them had their cameramen knocked around or even injured in the madness. I thought NY knew about crowd control? I'll bet Russ is glad to be going home finally.

Yay! Russell icons! I'm saving all 3, but I'm not sure which I'll use.
