For those of you who didn’t see me post this on Facebook or Twitter, a quick reminder: right now all three books of the Rebels of Adalonia books are on sale for 99 cents each. I can confirm this price on Amazon, Nook, Kobo, Google Play, and Apple Books. So you can read the entire trilogy for about three dollars right now!

Leap on it while you can, as the price of these books is NOT in my control and I cannot guarantee how long it’ll last. If you have the books already, please consider spreading the word to any friends or family who might like epic fantasy with religious and political intrigue!

(Particularly given that I have no day job right now, any little bump I can get to my ebook sales would be super helpful. So please do spread the word!)

And come have a look at the official Rebels of Adalonia page to find all the places where you can buy the books.

Herein endeth the promo. Faanshi, Kestar, and Julian thank you for your attention. <3

EDITING TO ADD: I am advised that the sale price is NOT active in Canada, at least on Kobo. Sorry, Canadian readers! (Still, $2.99 each is still pretty awesome for an entire trilogy of books if I do say so myself.)

annathepiper: (Alan YES!)

Our power came back a short while ago, so that means my web server is back up again! And THAT means angelahighland.com is once more reachable.

And I said this over on the post I put up on angelahighland.info, but for those of you who didn’t see me post it there, or see my last post on Dreamwidth: the Rebels of Adalonia books are currently ON SALE for 99 cents each right now!

Since sale prices on the Rebels books are outside my control, I will NOT know when this price stops being active. So if you don’t already have these ebooks of mine, now is a real good time to get them. Or tell a friend if you know somebody who you think might like my writing! Please do spread the word, I need all the word of mouth I can get. Particularly since right now I don’t have a day job. Thank you in advance!

The Rebels books are available on all major ebook platforms, as well as directly from Harlequin, Carina Press’s parent company. All the links to buy the books are on the official Valor of the Healer, Vengeance of the Hunter, and Victory of the Hawk pages.

And do remember: the Rebels books are NOT standalone novels. You DO need to read all three of them for the complete story. But at 99 cents a pop, that’s still cheaper than most paperbacks!

Questions? Let me know!

Crossposting over here from Wordpress is still broken, but given that I know there's been illness in the household of our fine Dreamwidth hosts, I can't exactly be impatient with them not having fixed that yet. So here's a catchup post for y'all just so you know I'm still around!

Posts I've made lately y'all may not have seen:

Gorgeous French romance covers ebook roundup: Latest ebooks I've gotten, prompted by my having seen a Courtney Milan giveaway on Goodreads for the French edition of one of her books, and holy crap the covers on the French editions of that series are lovely.

Faerie Blood and Bone Walker sale for the holidays!: What this says on the tin. Since I CAN, I have the ebooks of Faerie Blood and Bone Walker on sale for the entire month of December. They're available for 99 cents each on all the places I sell them, including my Square store. I'm also waiving the shipping costs for the print editions. So anybody who might want these books who doesn't have 'em already, now's a real good time to get 'em! Talk to me if you have questions!

Album review: Consolez-vous, by De Temps Antan: De Temps Antan, my second favorite Quebecois trad band, has dropped a new album! I am sad that André Brunet has left them, but am assured that new fiddler David Boulanger will do just fine. Spoiler alert: of course I like this album. André may be gone, but Éric and Pierre-Luc are not! Recommend for fans of DTA as well as people who might want to check them out for the first time.

In other news:

I did not win Nanowrimo, but I didn't really try all that hard to do so. Work continues very slowly on Walk the Wards, and I'm about 55,000 words in on that now. There will be more work on this book over the holidays, and once January gets here I'm going to have a conversation with the same artist I engaged for Warder Soul to do me some cover art.

I have a real rough plan in mind to try to get this thing done and ready to release by Norwescon, and to target Warder Soul for release by next Orycon. We'll see if I can pull this off.

Dara and I have not yet seen The Last Jedi. We will be seeing it on Christmas Day as our yearly "dinner and a movie" Christmas thing, so until that happens, I'm ignoring most of the Internet. You may however expect that as soon as I do actually see this movie, there will be a lengthy reaction post. Stand by!

And for those of you who didn't already see me report this on social media, I can mention this since it's been reported publicly in the local newspaper: my day job employer, Big Fish Games, is getting sold to new owners. Our new incoming overlords will be Australian, a company called Aristocrat. All signs indicate that there should be no job losses as a result of this, and at least my immediate team is not anticipating a change any time soon in anything we're doing, so that's all good. I still have a certain level of background nervousness about this just because it's a significant change. But we'll see.

Mostly everything else going on in life for me right now is the same as for a lot of you, I think: just trying to make it through the political shitstorm that's life in the U.S. these days.

But I have at least also gotten word that Le Vent du Nord, my top favorite Quebecois traditional band (and current top favorite band in general!) will be coming to Festival du Bois next year. And now that André Brunet is part of this band, I'm extra excited to see them! Canadian friends, hope I'll get to see you then too!

Since I am heading to Orycon in Portland this coming weekend, it’s time for another 99 cent sale for Faerie Blood and Bone Walker!

Sale prices will be in effect starting today, Monday November 14th, through Monday November 28th (which, conveniently, is also Cyber Monday).

As soon as price changes take effect on the various retailers, you should be able to see the sale price on all places these two ebooks are sold. For the duration, I have also set all my titles on Smashwords to be ‘Reader Sets Price’, so if you’re a Smashwords user, yes, this means you have an opportunity to snag both of these novels (as well as my two short stories “The Blood of the Land” and “The Disenchanting of Princess Cerridwen”) for free.

As always, the major locations you can buy these books are featured on their pages on my site. See the Faerie Blood page and the Bone Walker page for the Buy buttons at the top, and also the Preview buttons that will let you read samples if you are unfamiliar with my writing in general, or the Free Court series in particular.

Here also are direct links if you want them:

Faerie Blood:

Amazon | Nook | iBooks | Kobo | Smashwords | Google Play | Square

Bone Walker:

Amazon | Nook | iBooks | Kobo | Smashwords | Google Play | Square

Also, if you don’t want to go through any of the vendors where the book is on sale, you may buy the books directly from me via my Paypal account. You can do that on my Paypal.Me link here.

Spread the word!

It’s almost time for Dara and me to go up to VCON in Canada, and as I do like to do every time I go to a convention, I’m putting Faerie Blood and Bone Walker back on sale for 99 cents each!

This price point is now in effect, or shortly will be as soon as various sites finish processing, on all places where the ebooks are sold. As always here is the list of official places to buy these ebooks:

Faerie Blood: Amazon | Nook | iBooks | Kobo | Smashwords | Google Play | Square

Bone Walker: Bone Walker | Nook | iBooks | Kobo | Smashwords | Google Play | Square

On Smashwords, both books are set Reader Sets Price for the time being, including Free. Recommended price is 0.99 for the sale, but I will certainly not object if you want to go over that!

On my Square store, you may use the promo code VCON in order to knock two bucks off the price of the ebooks. (Or for that matter, anything else you’d like to order off the store.)

These prices, and the promo code on Square, will be in effect until 10/6. Please spread the word if you are so inclined, and thank you for your support!

I was going to hold off on this until July 1st, because Westercon and Clallam Bay Comicon are coming. But this week has been a trashfire of suckage, so screw it, I’m starting the sale early!

To wit: Faerie Blood and Bone Walker are now back on sale in digital form for 99 cents each. Price applies on all platforms where those books are sold, including “buying directly from me”. All links where the books are available are on their official pages; just click over to Faerie Blood or Bone Walker and look for the Buy button towards the top of each page, or go to my Square store!

If you want go pay me directly without going through any other channel, you can also pay me at my Paypal.me link.

These prices will be in effect until July 16th, one month from today. Spread the word if you are so inclined, and thanks as always for your support!

Norwescon is next week and I’ll be there selling the print editions of Faerie Blood and Bone Walker, as well as the Bone Walker soundtrack CD! And as I usually do when I’m going to be at a convention, the ebook editions of Faerie Blood and Bone Walker will ALSO be on sale. I’ve punted the prices down on each to 99 cents!

These prices will be in effect through the end of March, and apply to the major ebook vendors where I sell as well as to my Square marketplace. As always, here are the major places you can buy both books:

Faerie Blood: Amazon | Nook | iBooks | Kobo | Smashwords | Google Play | Square

Bone Walker: Amazon | Nook | iBooks | Kobo | Smashwords | Google Play | Square

If you choose to buy the book from the Square store, please note that there are two prices available on those pages, so choose the sale price! Also, if you want to buy from Kobo or B&N or iBooks, give it a day or two if you don’t see the 99 cent price point. It may take those sites a bit to catch up.

Please spread the word!

Found out today that the first two books of the Rebels of Adalonia trilogy are on SALE. Valor of the Healer has been punted down to 99 cents, and Vengeance of the Hunter is currently selling at $1.24 (or at least on iBooks, $1.99).

These prices are showing up on all major ebook vendors, AND on CarinaPress.com itself.

EDITING TO ADD: Valor and Vengeance are both still on sale, but as of 4/8 the sale price for each is $1.49 on major ebook vendors. On Carina Press’s own site, however, the 99 cents price still applies for Valor, and the $1.24 price still applies for Vengeance.

EDITING TO ADD 6/1/2016: The prices have been adjusted again! Valor of the Healer is currently selling for $1.49, and Vengeance is selling for $2.49. So not as big of a sale, but still a sale compared to the usual $2.99 price point!

So right now you can read the entire trilogy for just over about five bucks on your favorite ereader! Snap it up fast if you haven’t already, because I will not be informed how long these prices will last. And do spread the word, won’t you?

Here’s a roundup of all the major places you can buy these books!

Valor: Carina Press | Amazon | Nook | iBooks | Kobo | Google Play

Vengeance: Carina Press | Amazon | Nook | iBooks | Kobo | Google Play

And as always, do remember that the Rebels of Adalonia novels are not standalones, so you need to read all three to get the entire story. The reading order is Valor of the Healer, Vengeance of the Hunter, Victory of the Hawk.

ETA: Where should you buy the book? I get slightly more money if you buy directly from Carina, but really, you should buy from wherever you find it easiest. If that means one of the other ebook vendors, go for it!

Everyone, TODAY ONLY (that’s December 23rd), Carina Press is running a site-wide coupon code for 50% off everything in their book catalog. The code is DAY2315!

So if you haven’t read the Rebels of Adalonia books yet, today would be a very, VERY good time to go straight to the Carina site and scarf ’em. Here are the direct links to Valor, Vengeance, and Victory on the Carina site:

Valor of the Healer

Vengeance of the Hunter

Victory of the Hawk

And remember, these books are not standalone novels, so you need to read all three to get the complete story. Reading order is Valor, Vengeance, Victory.

And! Since the coupon code applies to everything in Carina’s catalog, if you see anything else up there that looks appealing, go ahead and stock up!

Since I’ve gotten quite a bit of surprising action this weekend on the Faerie Blood and Bone Walker sale, here’s an official post about that. And a big shoutout and thanks to userinfoandpuff, Tanya Huff, for signal boosting me! If you’re visiting my site because of her RT’ing me on Twitter, hi there and thank you for coming by!

So here’s what you need to know: both of my two indie-published novels, Faerie Blood and Bone Walker, Books 1 and 2 of the Free Court of Seattle urban fantasy series, are currently on sale in ebook form for 99 cents each. This sale was launched in honor of Orycon, which I just attended, and is also in honor of general Black Friday/Small Business Saturday/Cyber Monday/Please Everybody Buy Our Stuff Weekend. 😉

Both of these books are on sale on major ebook vending sites: Amazon, Nook, iTunes, Kobo, Google Play, and Smashwords. Note that on Smashwords in particular, the price is actually also “Reader Sets Price”, so while the suggested price there is currently 99 cents, you can actually set it to anything you like. (And a big shoutout and thanks to the reader who gave me five dollars for Faerie Blood, too!)

All the major links can be found on the Faerie Blood and Bone Walker pages. Look for the “Buy the Book” button in the top sections of each page.

You can also buy the ebooks directly from me at my Square storefront, where the 99 cent price is in effect as well.

Thanks to all who’ve spread the word, and if you’re a new reader picking up my stuff for the first time, thanks for your purchase and I hope you enjoy my stories!

Dara and I are heading to Orycon in another couple of weeks! And as I’ve done at Norwescon and Worldcon this year, I’ll be contributing books to sell at the NIWA table.

WHICH MEANS: it’s time for another convention deal!

The ebooks of both Faerie Blood and Bone Walker are back on sale for 99 cents each. ALSO: since I’ll be doing this deal at the convention, I’ll extend it to online purchasers as well. Since the print copies of these two books normally sell for $15 each, if you buy them both together, you can have ’em for $25!

These prices are in effect until December 1st. Mostly this sale is in honor of Orycon, but also because Thanksgiving is coming up, so I thought hey, I’ll keep the sale going till Cyber Monday!

For the ebooks, the 99 price point is in effect now on all major platforms where I sell ebooks. Click over to the Faerie Blood or Bone Walker pages and hit the “Buy The Book” buttons to see the major places in question.

If you want the print editions, head over to my Square marketplace and click down to the ‘Paperbacks’ section. The bundle is the third option in that part of the page.

As always, shoot me questions if you have ’em! And spread the word!

Promo Code: CA50SALE

United States/Australia/New Zealand
October 27th – October 30th

United Kingdom
October 30th – November 2nd

Spread the word around to anybody you know who reads via Kobo, won’t you? Thank you!

(Note also: this will only apply to Faerie Blood, since my other two indie titles, Bone Walker and The Blood of the Land, are currently deployed to Kobo via Smashwords and are not active in the Writing Life system.)

Since Worldcon is IMMINENT (and I have posted about that very thing right over here on Here Be Magic), I have elected to put Faerie Blood AND Bone Walker on sale for 99 cents!

This price will last until 8/27, so as to give any congoers I happen to talk to at the NIWA table time to get home from the convention and buy my ebooks if they are so inclined. So if you’re reading this, whether or not you’ll be at Worldcon, this will be an excellent time to snap up both these books!

And if you’re so inclined, spread the word, won’t you? Here are pertinent links to share! (If you don’t see the price down to 99 cents yet, give it a bit, various sites may take a bit to catch up to the prices I just set!)

Faerie Blood: Amazon | Nook | iBooks | Kobo | Smashwords | Google Play

Bone Walker: Amazon | Nook | iBooks | Kobo | Smashwords | Google Play

Cheers all and hope to see some of you at the convention!

CKi2vQHUsAAZulK

Note that this sale does apply only to purchases on CarinaPress.com itself, although of course you can still buy the books on all the other major ebook providers.

So if you haven’t gotten any of the Rebels of Adalonia books yet, now is a VERY good time! Here are the direct links to the Rebels books on the Carina site, and don’t forget, if you want to read this trilogy, you need to read them in this order!

Book 1: Valor of the Healer

Book 2: Vengeance of the Hunter

Book 3: Victory of the Hawk

And of course, the sale is for ALL Carina titles, not just mine! So this is a great chance to get some of the Carina titles I’ve featured on the Boosting the Signal posts, too!

Enjoy your shopping, all! :)

Girls Can't Be Knights

Girls Can’t Be Knights

A bunch of other NIWA authors and I are selling ebooks for 99 cents all weekend, until Monday! You can see all the participating titles at this Facebook event, including my own Faerie Blood.

And to participate as a buyer as well as a seller, I’ve scarfed a bunch of these titles myself. I got them all from Amazon for once, since we’re a bunch of no-DRM-selling authors, and that’s one of the circumstances under which I’ll actually buy ebooks from Amazon. Behold the roundup!

  • Toy Wars, by Thomas Gondolfi. Described as ‘science fantasy of inter-toy warfare’, and this seems like the silly sort of thing I’d like to read sometimes. I’ve seen Thomas at Norwescon. He has pretty awesome huge teddy bears at his booth, and you should look for him!
  • The Witches of Dark Root and The Magick of Dark Root, by April Aasheim. Paranormal fantasy with witches.
  • Core of Confliction, by Maquel Jacob. SF along the lines of “holy crap I’m the leader of a nearly extinct race”.
  • Girls Can’t Be Knights, by Lee French. Urban fantasy. Featured just yesterday on Boosting the Signal! And while we’re on the topic of Lee French, I also grabbed her Dragons in Pieces and The Fallen.
  • Huw the Bard, by Connie J. Jasperson. Medieval fantasy in which a young man has to run from the assassins who’ve killed his father. Also grabbed her Tales from the Dreamtime, a set of novellas billing themselves as “Three Modern Fairytales”.
  • Awake: Finding Dad, by James M. McCracken. SF in which humanity tries to give the Earth time to replenish itself by putting everybody in suspended animation. But of course, this doesn’t go well for everyone…
  • At One’s Beast, by Rachel Bernard. Fantasy, centering around a yearly sacrifice to a beast in a forest–and what happens when the sacrifice doesn’t go as planned. Also got Bernard’s Ataxia and the Ravine of Lost Dreams, YA SF featuring a young heroine in a futuristic military academy.
  • Flower’s Fang, by Madison Keller. Fantasy, in which the hero is a member of a magical race, and the only one who doesn’t have magic.
  • Nouveau Haitiah, by Donald McEwing. SF, though I’m not entirely sure what it’s about, even based on reading the blurb on the Amazon page! Guess I’ll find out!
  • Masks, by E.M. Prazeman. Book 1 of her Lord Jester’s Legacy series, historical-flavored fantasy with the promise of a lot of political intrigue.

Total of 15 scarfed for this sale, which puts me at 35 for the year.

So a bunch of us in NIWA thought, hey, wouldn’t it be awesome if we banded together and put several of our books on sale for 99 cents? We are doing exactly that.

Me, I’ve put Faerie Blood on sale for 99 cents for the entire month of June in honor of this, and also because I CAN. This price will be valid until the end of the month. As always, all of the official links to buy this book are on the Faerie Blood page!

HOWEVER: several other NIWA-author titles will ALSO be on sale for 99 cents, for a narrower window of time, from the 12th until the 15th! We have a Facebook event describing this and which titles are participating! (If you’re not on Facebook, worry not–this is a publicly readable event so you should still be able to see the book list even if you’re not a Facebook user.) So keep an eye on that link, because more titles are getting added to it over the next several days. Be poised with your wallets to snap up all these nifty deals on the 12th, won’t you?

And in the meantime, Dara’s also jumped in on this tasty sale action. She’s set up a discount download code of “niwa” for anybody who’d like to snag a digital download of the Bone Walker soundtrack for 40 percent off! And as always, the soundtrack can be scarfed directly from Bandcamp.

ALSO! Although this is not actually part of the sale, don’t forget, the short story “The Blood of the Land” is also available for pennies. If you go to Smashwords, you can grab it for any price YOU choose, including free. Everywhere else, it’s 99 cents, and that will be the story’s permanent official price.

Spread the word, everybody!

Mirrored from angelahighland.com.

annathepiper: (Aubrey Orly?)

The good folks of NIWA are gearing up to do a special promotional sale of assorted NIWA titles in mid-June, so a) to jump the gun on this a bit, and b) just because SURE WHY NOT, I’ve put Faerie Blood back on sale for 99 cents on all places where it’s sold. So if by chance you haven’t snapped it up yet, you have another shot at doing so very cheaply! And if you HAVE already snapped it up, spread the word, won’t you?

Appropriate purchase links as always are on the official Faerie Blood page, but here are the major ones:

Amazon | Nook | iBooks | Kobo | Smashwords | Google Play

And while we’re on the topic of stuff of mine you can get for nice tasty low prices, don’t forget, the short story “The Blood of the Land” is ALSO available for 99 cents through most major retailers–but if you go to Smashwords, YOU can set the price, and that includes FREE. Here are those links too!

Amazon | Nook | Smashwords | Kobo | Google Play

All the rest of my titles are currently available for $2.99, including Bone Walker and all three of the Rebels of Adalonia books. You can fill up your ereader with my stuff for less than a trade paperback!
