-0. My paycheck is not in today's mail as it ought to be. Grr. This bothers me. It either means that it didn't get mailed on time, it was delayed in the mail, or somebody took it. I will be most put out if the situation proves to be the latter.

-1. Neither of the two houses that [livejournal.com profile] solarbird and I looked at this afternoon were appropriate; they were both too noisy, and I thought that the first one was also just godawful ugly.

+2: Continuing work on the new logs archive on the Two Moons site. Getting a few old logs of my own posted; [livejournal.com profile] eveshka has coughed up some old logs to contribute as well, and [livejournal.com profile] flashfire has given me permission to add some of his too. If any other TM players past or present on my Friends list have logs you'd like to add to the archive I'm building, talk to me about getting them in there. Especially if they are logs involving any of the Book Characters, since a big part of the point of this archive is to make logs involving given Book Characters easily searchable for people who want to app to play them.

+3: Watched a couple more episodes of Angel last night with [livejournal.com profile] mamishka and [livejournal.com profile] risu and Dara, while Meems was printing up the pages for the Firefly episode guide she's finally finished. Good on Meems for pulling that off! And the Angel episodes were pretty kickin', too.

+4: Nickelodeon is showing Invader Zim again! GIR: "YAAAAAAAAY!"

-5: I have slacked off on reading Der kleine Hobbit, but hope to take care of a bit of that tomorrow after I am caught up on sleep. I also need to continue putting a dent into my To Read pile, especially given that it currently involves books loaned to me by both Meems and [livejournal.com profile] kathrynt. I've been lame on reading more of the Dorothy Sayers that Kathryn loaned me, on the theory that I'd be working my way through the series sequentially and buying my own copies of the books, and reading Kathryn's loaners when I hit them in the sequence... but I haven't found a copy of Lord Peter Views the Body yet, and I need to get that one and another one, I think, out of the way before I get to Have His Carcase. Hrmph.

Not much writing over the last few days except for today, but well hey, stuff happens. Among the things that have happened:

+0: Finally getting caught up on Angel, since [livejournal.com profile] mamishka got a hold of the two episodes we'd missed--so we've chugged through six episodes this weekend, two on Friday, two yesterday, and two tonight. WHOOT! Lots of intense goodness all over these plotlines.

+1: The second of the two chiropractor appointments I'd scheduled with Dr. Dowell, yesterday morning. Went quite well, a couple of quick, deep cracks to my hips and one to my neck. The interesting side effects of these have been my shoulder feeling a lot more normal than it has ever since I broke my arm, and my ankles having these odd little pings of pain every so often that I've been wondering about; I've been trying to figure out whether the deep cracks to my hips were deep enough that I'm carrying my weight differently enough that my ankles have to adjust.

+2: Had a pleasant lunch down in the U Village after said appointment, taking the time to read while I had a burger and fries, and beginning to put a dent into Cape Random. Bit of an odd read, so far. Most of it is in first person present tense, with periodic jaunts into third person past when the story talks about past history of the main cast. It's starting to get interesting, though there's also sort of this feel to the prose of 'This is lit-ra-cher!' rather than 'this is a story'. I'm thinking maybe once we get past 'cast is stuck in a tiny port in a Newfoundland winter and starving and OH LOOK there's seals maybe we don't have to starve after all', we might get some more character development here.

+3: Poking about the web looking for data on handhelds, as per my earlier post. So far the Sony Clie UX50 and the Zaurus SL-5600 seem to be the front contenders, just from what I've seen from folks' answer to my previous post and from the reviews on CNet.

+4: Actually roleplayed a little, though that was more like Thursday night. I was going to RP Ynderra some more on Friday, but got distracted by Angel... and the guy on TM I was going to RP with was late anyway, so we didn't wind up RPing.

+5: Read about half of The Blue Sword again, and sighed happily. I had, indeed, forgotten about Robin McKinley's gift with language.

+6: Watched Eddie Izzard's Circle while balancing the checkbooks, and it was fun, and funny. Circle, that is. Not balancing the checkbooks. But at least the checkbooks balanced without errors, so yay!

-7: Lamed out about going to get replacement strings from Trading Musician so that I can get another A string for my guitar. Oh well.

-8: Tried to go deposit my paycheck today, but the bank had no deposit envelopes by their ATMs for the second week in a row. Bah.

+9: Also watched some Kim Possible Saturday night, and giggled at an episode we hadn't seen yet as well as one we had. I (heart) Shego.

+10: Played quite a bit of Nethack and Slashem, and got farther than I have in Slashem before. Yay!

+11: Did finally wake my muse up again today to beat on Chapter 3 of Lament of the Dove some more. I'd actually gotten in about 100 or so words on Friday night but didn't bother to record them, thanks to being distracted by Angel, but got in a lot more words today. To wit...

Written over the last three days: 1,274
Chapter 3 total: 3,292
Story total: 19,743

Today, I went to go get my driver's license renewed--because I'd completely spazzed that my license was going to expire on my birthday. DOH. And I'd even had warning, since I got a thing in the mail in early January giving me a shot at getting a one-year license extension, since Washington State is trying to stagger out the distribution of the new five-year licenses. And did I do it? Nope. Because big spazz. Also because ill over birthday, and haven't been driving lately so I haven't even had the car on my mind.

[livejournal.com profile] mamishka generously offered to drive me over to the renewal office, but when we got there, we discovered they were closed until Tuesday in observance of President's Day! DOH!

We went to lunch anyway, over to Mae's on Phinney Ridge, where we had way too damned much food. Meems gave me another good tip about how to handle chapter 1 of the current work. I had a delicious white chocolate milkshake. And we were seated in the room where they have the old tapestry with Elvis on the wall, which made me think of Elessir. ^_^

Came home to try to balance the checkbooks, then zonked out on the couch for a while. An old friend returning from New Zealand, however, woke me up with a surprise visit! He's home for a while after having done a lot of trapeze training down in NZ, and it was very pleasant to see him again.

[livejournal.com profile] spazzkat is over tonight, watching Lost in Translation with [livejournal.com profile] solarbird and me.

And Angel is cancelled. I'm not terribly upset about it--and I'm also reassured by others pointing out on my Friends List that if James Marsters is freed up from this show, maybe, just maybe, it'll mean he can play Harry Dresden. I may have left the McAnallys mailing list, but this doesn't mean I don't want to see a Harry Dresden TV series!

One last thing, since this seems a beautiful gesture to me...
