Gosh, and I just spent two and a half years polishing up my first publishable novel. Clearly, I have been going about this all wrong.

I've never actually read any of her books- I think maybe I'll continue to avoid them. ;)

While early Laurell K. Hamilton does have some periodic goodness, you won't miss much. Go read Sharon Shinn or Julie Czerneda or Doranna Durgin instead. ^_^

If you read any of them, I recommend "Obsidian Butterfly". It's entirely sex-free!

No, really!

Anita goes out of town to help a friend in another state, and has no sex for the entire book. It's pretty good.

Obsidian Butterfly is also actually my favorite of the series, I think. Definitely one of the strongest plots, and it was the last Anita Blake I actively enjoyed.
