So I've been wandering around cnn.com looking for amusing things to read while my tests run this afternoon. And I came across a recent article about Lisa Marie Presley's second record coming out. DAMN, that girl looks like her father, especially with her hair dyed black and dressed all in black as she is in the photo in the article! Does anyone on my Friends list know if she can actually sing? According to the article, her first record was well-received.

And speaking of her father, apparently back in January "Jailhouse Rock" hit number 1 in the UK. This amuses me deeply.

Perhaps I shall use my shiny new iTunes music store account to see if I can find some samples of her ditties to listen to. Hrmmm!

And BOY, I can just imagine how much she'd look like her daddy in drag. ;)

Ah, I had not noticed this. :) Though when I look that boy up on imdb.com, it lists that credit for him as a TV mini-series.

CBS has been advertising Elvis on May 8th, not sure if it's a miniseries or movie but that's probably the one. I noticed it was comin on Mothers' Day, but wasn't that Elvis' birthday too?

Ah, this would be why I had no idea this was coming--solarbird and I don't watch very much TV at all anymore, and what little TV we do watch isn't on the big networks. :)

Elvis' birthday is January 8th, and the date of his death is August 16th.

Yep, looking up Mr. Phoenix on imdb.com as well, I see him with Walk the Line at the top of his filmography; it's listed as being in post-production. Hadn't heard he'd gone into rehab, though.

Oprah had her on, a week or so ago. I made a point of watching because.... PRESLEY. Anyway, it's spooky actually how much she is like her Dad. She moves like him, gestures, her voice, her face. She talked very candidly about how much it's screwed her up actually, in life. She also talked about the Michael Jackson debaucle, and her other marriage, and Nicholas Cage, etc etc. she's actually quite good, singing-wise and her music is different from his, really her own person. I was very impressed with her, and very impressed with how genuine she seemed.

Oh, I can totally, without even hearing her talk about it, buy that being Elvis' daughter had to be a huge burden to deal with in life.

Thanks for your take! I think I'll look for her on iTunes when I get the chance and see if I like her samples, and if I can, I'll purchase her album from the store. :)
