Can I go home yet?
Apr. 15th, 2005 12:35 pm-0: So we had an adventure downtown this morning, those of us waiting to catch the 545 to go across the lake to Redmond. It seems there was a HUGE accident, one that involved cars seriously crunching into one another from what I heard on the bus when I finally caught it. I didn't actually see anything other than massively backed up traffic and the entire block one block over from my usual bus stop blocked off by the cops, though. A Metro guy at my stop said it was closed, so another girl who rides the 545 to Redmond and I walked over to Olive and waited at a later stop along the route for the 545 to pick us up. We didn't get on the bus until close to a quarter to nine (compared to my usual catching time of 10 after 8), and the bus was packed from end to end by the time we made it to Microsoft, even more so than usual. So I get to leave work a bit late again today, to make sure I get in my eight hours.
+1: Wish me luck, folks; there are two open SDET positions on my team, and I'm going to see if I can get in on one of them. I've fired off my resume to my lead and the actual hiring manager today. Meep!
+2: My lead caught me listening to my iPod. He thinks they're cool. I am deeply amused by this, since we ARE the Windows Media team. ;)
-3: My exercise has been minimal while I've been working on the book, but perhaps since I'm leaving late today I'll get in extra walking to help offset that. In the meantime...
Wednesday miles: 1.0
Thursday miles: 1.0
Miles out of Hobbiton: 77.21
Miles to Rivendell: 380.79
