Friday morning in brief
Mar. 11th, 2005 09:26 am+0: Every time I launch the Task Manager on one of my servers here at work, I see alg.exe in the list of running processes. I have no idea what this is, but it makes me giggle every time I see it, because it reminds me of
alg. Maybe I should send it a manuscript. ;)
+1: It looks like at least two folks on my Friends list--aside from the usual suspects connected to the Murkworks, that is--are going to be at Norwescon! Anybody besides
howlinhobbit and
elfmaid planning to be there? If so, sing out. We should meet!
+2: No treadmill last night, but I didn't have any cake either, so that's all good. And I groove on getting in a mile a day with the bus stop walks, too.
Miles on the journey: 36.7
Miles to Rivendell: 421.3

Date: 2005-03-11 09:30 pm (UTC)There's at least one other similar situation I know about, where people think that another executable in Windows is a virus when it fact it's not. It's less about being anti-Microsoft and more about people being so twitchy about virii and such that if one person gets a mistaken idea, it can spread like wildfire across the Internet. Very few people actually think to go check virus information sites for real data.
