Random Thursdayness
Mar. 10th, 2005 09:18 am+0: Greetings to
kissare, who I see has shown up on the list of people who have Friended me. :) Do I know you?
+1:
mamishka,
aerialscribe, and
spazzkat all came over last night for an evening of TV and birthday cake for
risu. We did a doubleheader: episode 3 of Battlestar Galactica, "Bastille Day", which neither Meems nor Jeff nor Paul had seen, and the pilot episode of Lost, which none of us besides Paul had seen yet. It's official: I have another new show I need to get caught up on now, because Lost was quite intense and fun. Also, the birthday cake was quite tasty, made by special order to one of our local grocery stores, and sporting "Happy birthday Jenna" in decorative frosting, along with a couple of large and really pretty frosting flowers.
+/-1.5: It must also be noted that as Paul and I were heading into the QFC yesterday afternoon to get the cake, there was a small herd of Girl Scouts outside. They tried to ambush us with their evil cookie goodness. We warded them off only by virtue of having a cake.
-2: No editing last night, but given that we were being all social and stuff and yakking about assorted TV-related things in between watching stuff and having cake, I'm not terribly distressed by this.
+3: In addition to having heard yesterday that my contract has been extended, Norwescon is also coming up! And I have clearance to take the Friday of that weekend off, too. It seems to help that my team's new lead is in fact an SF fan; he made jokes at me about getting Alan Dean Foster's autograph. Me, I'm expecting I'll probably spend most of the con editing, but hey, doing it in a hotel is still a vacation. Plus, there will be a hot tub and various amusing activities to do when I'm tired of looking at the computer. I'm really looking forward to it.
+/-4: The last couple of days, I've been having a bit more trouble actually waking up in the mornings, and I've felt ever so slightly logey and queasy before I made it to work and have some caffeine. I am wondering whether my system is resetting itself after this bout with insomnia, but I am a little reluctant to back off the Trazodone until I have my doctor's clearance. I was going to have a followup appointment with her today, but it turns out that she'd made a scheduling error, so we had to postpone me till Monday. Oh well. I'm also kind of suspecting that if I just sleep until I wake up on Saturday and Sunday mornings, I'll finish the whole bouncing back process.
+5: Getting back into the groove of exercising again, which pleases me. Only .5 miles for bus stop walking yesterday, but 1.7 miles on the treadmill after I got home. Given that we have cake in the house, I'll really have to be conscientious about my exercise for a bit. And thus...
Miles on the journey: 35.7
Miles to Rivendell: 422.3

Date: 2005-03-10 07:17 pm (UTC)Me and my Fallen Angel are going to be there and, if you can tear yourself away from the computer, I'd love to meet up for a brief chat and/or delicious beverage (you know the drill).
