Note to self
Mar. 6th, 2005 10:34 amWhat not to take before I go to bed during a two-week-long bout with insomnia: Midol.
I'd looked at both its package and the info sheet given to me with the Trazodone, looking for any indications that the two of them weren't safe to take together. I didn't find anything that would suggest a problem, so since it is now that time of the month where I need a bit of my good friend M to get through two days of physical discomfort, I took a tablet of Midol along with the Trazodone. And apparently, the caffeine in the Midol was enough to keep me awake for six fregging hours despite 150mg of Trazodone in my system, because I couldn't figure out what the hell else might have been messing with me. There was only one other thing going on that seemed to be contributing: a return of congestion problems.
So I got up around 3:30am and took a fourth tablet of the Trazodone, but I didn't actually drop off to sleep as near as I could tell until after I'd blown my nose a lot and had also propped up my pillows so that I could sort of sit back against them rather than lying down completely, to try to make sure I could breathe more easily.
And I had to get up two or three times to go hiss at the yowling cat outside the bedroom door. That didn't help, either.
At least it's the weekend, so I have another night to get coherent again before I have to stagger back to work.
