+0: Welcome, [livejournal.com profile] hederahelix, to the list of folks looking at my journal. :)

+/-1: [livejournal.com profile] solarbird and I tried to get my prescription for Trazodone filled at the Bartell's right near my doctor's, but their pharmacy was closed for lunch. Foo. On the other hand, I did cause someone to laugh out loud as Dara and I were on our way back out to the car and I said, "We have to get out of this aisle quickly. There are Cadbury Eggs in it."

+2: Dara and I took great satisfaction in the blooming of the cherry trees all over the U-district. We both love the smell of cherry trees, of which there are far too few in our neighborhood in Kenmore. Dara vows to plant more of them at MurkNorth. I find myself suspecting that the Holt founded by all my ex-tribesmates from Two Moons on the southern continent will have cherry trees around.

+/-3: The weather is amazingly gorgeous outside today, and almost hot. However, it's still worrisome because we're still at only 30 percent of our normal snowpack on the mountains, and it still spells water shortage this summer. Taking this in conjunction with Dara telling me this morning that Death Valley is getting record amounts of rainfall and is amazingly beautiful right now, I just wonder what mischief the weather demons have decided to get up to this year. Grf.

+/-4: At the second Bartell's we went to, this one in the University Village shopping center near MurkSouth, we tried out this massage chair they had there. It was AMAZING. Shiatsu massage all up and down your spine along your back. We amused each other greatly with the faces we made sitting in the thing. We were also very reluctant to abandon it. And I bought a bottle of T-Gel shampoo on the recommendation of my LMP, in the hopes of doing something about this stupid itchy flaky dandruff problem I'm having. Grf. Stupid dandruff.

+5: [livejournal.com profile] mamishka came over last night, and since we were not yet able to provide her with the next episodes of the new BSG to watch, we watched a couple of episodes of the old one instead. Cheesearific original Battlestar Galactica was about my speed--especially since the two episodes we watched were "The Young Lords" (Starbuck crash-lands on a planet where kids on unicorns are fighting Cylons who have taken over their castle and want to rescue their father, and apparently there are NO OTHER HUMANS WHATSOEVER on this planet) and "The Long Patrol" (Starbuck gets tossed into this prison full of descendants of 'original sinners', all of whom have been making 'ambrosa' for the last several hundred years on the assumption that the stuff is getting shipped off to the Colonies). Lots of cheese in both of them. Especially the one with the kids on the unicorns. Half the giggle-worthy cringe value, though, was the wallpaper/tablecloth/napkin decorating scheme used for the scenes that took place on board the Rising Star during "The Long Patrol". Dara actively cringed and in fact fled the room a couple of times rather than have to look at that wallpaper. It WAS godawful!

Godt dammit, that was some awful wallpaper. And tablecloth. And barstand. And napkins. I'm surprised the same pattern wasn't on the food. <shudder> And mushies?! What the hell? PLAY-DOH IS NOT FOOD. Even if it is edible. NOT. FOOD.

That surrealist bed scene with Boxey and Adama was deeply disturbing.

CADBURY MINI EGGS.

They are my heroin. My drug. I cannot resist them. If they weren't only sold Valentine's Day to Easter, I'd weigh 800lbs.

Sigh. Not sold in Japan, though. Am having some brought over with my BF when he visits, but it's still hard to hear about them!

Oh, I've got Trazodone as well. It seems to work for me most of the time. Not as effective as Ambien, but of course you don't have a worry about getting addicted to Trazodone. I hope it helps.

*Wow*. It's been years since I watched Battlestar Galactica. I would never have thought I remembered much of it, but your brief synopsis of the plots for those two episodes called them both VIVIDLY to mind. How weird.

And man, those were some bad plots.

mmm eggs.

I tried a butterfinger egg this week and it was heaven. Important to note: NOT the round, egg-like egg. It has to be the flat one, much like a Reese's egg. The label says "Butterfinger pieces", oh so good.
