Seasonal journal flip!
Mar. 1st, 2005 07:27 pmOne of these days I will either whip up a new stylesheet theme for my journal and my personal web page, or at the very least figure out a way to have my journal flip round to the next seasonal style in the queue when my web page does. Regardless, it's spring on Anna's journal now!
Also, I did exercise again tonight, but took care to try to do a less strenuous treadmill walk than usual since my system's been so wonky lately. But I didn't want to fall out of the habit of exercising entirely. So I did 40 minutes again tonight, but kept it slow and easy, and totalled only 1.44 miles (deliberately timed to get rid of the fractional part of my recent Rivendell tallies). Thus:
Miles on the journey: 27.0
Miles to Rivendell: 431.0

Date: 2005-03-02 07:20 am (UTC)We're pretty dry down here, too, though we've had rain today and yesterday, the first rain in weeks. Hopefully that means it was snowing in the mountains.

Date: 2005-03-02 03:53 pm (UTC)I'm told we normally get around 90something or other snow, but this year we're already up to 108... Millimeters? Probably. Not sure.
Anyway, we probably could use the extra - it's been a long, long time since I remember snow drifts this high in March!

Date: 2005-03-02 06:01 am (UTC)I can't exercise earlier in the day, though. There's no time to do it during my work hours, and I'm already getting up as early as I can stand in the morning.

Date: 2005-03-02 06:11 am (UTC)And thanks! I'll be trying the Melatonex again tonight. I figure hell, even if I get only five or so hours over the next few days, I can start regaining lost ground. It'll help if the cat settles down, too.
I'm still half-wondering if I'm fighting something off, too. I've had similar sleeplessness when ill in the past, and I distinctly remember that sudden "ping, I'm awake now" feeling hitting me the last time I was ill enough to have to take Nyquil to knock myself out at night. Once it wore off, boom, I was awake. And I've had a couple of odd bouts of hard sneezing and weird temperature sensititivies. When I had my massage appointment with Liz on Sunday, and she had me face down on her table, I actually got a bit of a nosebleed... which all leads me to wonder if I'm wrestling off some sort of sinus infection or something.

Date: 2005-03-02 07:25 am (UTC)Anyway, the dr. I saw about my sleeping problems had me keep a journal of when I went to bed, approx. how long it took to fall asleep, how often I was waking up, how long I was awake for, and when I would wake up in the morning. He took a look at it and said that yeah, definite non-normalness. You might want to start keeping track of that kind of thing a little bit- if nothing else, as improvement gets made you'll be able to see there has been improvement, and maybe that'll make you feel better. Sleep's a weird thing like that- stressing about how you're not sleeping only makes it less likely that you *will* sleep. :P

Date: 2005-03-02 09:26 pm (UTC)Yesterday evening was almost normal for me, what with easy exercise and trying to write... I felt almost back on my feet. And then WHAMMO.
I've had it suggested to me by a couple of people now that stressing about insomnia only makes it worse, which is why I was hoping that having a massage appointment on Sunday would help work some of that out. But that didn't seem to help much either. This is why I'm beginning to be a little paranoid that what's left of my thyroid might be acting up. :|
