-0: I got home tonight around a quarter to eight. Amazingly, I am not in fact exhausted. But it turned out that there was a huge accident on 522, and that made it take our bus about TWO HOURS to get from the Bothell Park-and-Ride down to my bus stop. Had I known about it at the time, I could have gotten off the bus at that point and walked home.

By the time we made it to the site of the accident, they'd mostly cleaned things up. But it had to have been a nasty one, because I saw three cop cars and a motorcycle and a car both being put onto tow vehicles.

At least as far as the bus ride itself was concerned, it wasn't that bad. I spent the time chatting with a couple of folks on the bus, and got in a bit of editing time as well. This nice young lady loaned me her phone, too, so that I could call home and let [livejournal.com profile] solarbird know what was going on. By the time I made it home Dara was keeping dinner warm for me, and I still made it home in time for [livejournal.com profile] mamishka to come over and get caught up on Battlestar Galactica episodes.

The only real annoying part of this was that I didn't get to exercise tonight, because I got home too late. Guess I'll have to treadmill tomorrow.

-1: So according to this article up on canada.com, Americans with relatives and loved ones in Canada have been complaining to the Canadian MPs about the impending pro-gay-marriage legislation up there. And words just fail me, reading this quote from one American:

"The United States is the great nation it is because of its moral code. Canada isn't even considered a Christian nation anymore and they seem OK with that. It's more of a melting pot. That doesn't make any sense to me."

Melting pot? Last I checked, we were supposed to be a melting pot.

+2: Since [livejournal.com profile] mamishka needs to get caught up on BG episodes, and Dara and I had been deleting them off our Tivo before she started watching them with us, does anyone still have "Bastille Day" or the two-parter about Starbuck easily tapeable? Let me and Dara know!

Heading into Seattle from 3rd Place this afternoon, big accident on Lake City Way. Then driving [livejournal.com profile] kathrynt home post-chorus (heading north on 5 from downtown) the sign declared there was an accident mid-span of 520 blocking all lanes. And traffic on 520 was stopped all the way to the ramps from 5 to 520. Sounds like it was a bad traffic day for a lot of people. :-(
