+0: Greetings to [livejournal.com profile] ellerisse! Long time no see, hon! :)

+1: Hardly any traffic on the commute this morning, so I got to work quite early. Still too many people on the busses, but hey, I figure if I get to sit by myself on either leg of my morning bus commute, I win. And my afternoon bus commute will probably be even sparser, since I take less populated busses home.

+2: Finally watched the first half of the extended edition Return of the King last night, while paying a huge pile of bills. Am not unpleased with how they dealt with Saruman, given the absence of the scouring of the Shire in Jackson's treatment of the story. Also rather liked various and sundry other little extra bits I caught all throughout the first half of the movie... though having the break be right in the beginning of the Battle of the Pelennor Fields was vaguely vexing. ;) The extra bit that amused me the most, though, was Eomer's little speech to Eowyn about how "war is the provence of men"--so women and hobbits, NO FIGHTING FOR YOU. Fits right in with Eowyn's deciding to sneak into the fray.

-3: Annoyed at myself, though, for forgetting to pay a few of the phone bills when they were due. Made sure to get them paid as part of the outgoing pile, but still, vexed at myself for that.

-4: Also vexed at still reading 168 on the scale this morning. I'm kind of wondering how the rounding on our scale works--whether 168 could really mean anything from 168 up to just under 168.5, or whether it's more "anything over 167.5 rounds up to 168, and anything under 168.5 rounds down". This is what I get for having a scale that only measures half-pound increments. This is also apparently what I get for paying close attention to my weight numbers. As a result of this vexation, I have decided to up my treadmill workouts to 40 minutes instead of 30, and have adjusted all my treadmill playlists on my iPod accordingly. This'll also hopefully mean I can get two miles on the treadmill in any given workout; I hit 1.6 miles on the last 30-minute one, so.

-5: It remains questionable as to whether [livejournal.com profile] solarbird and I will be able to make Worldcon in Scotland this year. :( Much will depend on whether a) my contract gets renewed in April, and b) we get the rest of MurkSouth rented out in time. The weird state of our finances is why I haven't yet registered for this year's Writer's Weekend, too.

I liked the Saruman treatment as well, and it made Pippin finding the palantir much better as well. :)

*hugs* Stop looking at the numbers and just do it. :)

Maybe just weigh yourself once a week or something? I've been exercising and I'm rather happy with my progress but I find if I weigh myself too often I start fretting about it more instead of just doing it. My problem, any way. :)

I've been watching the appendices for the EE RotK the last few days. The last disk, 'The Passing of an Age' made me _cry_, because it's the people involved with the film talking about how much making it changed their lives, and how close to the people they worked with they are.

(sniffle)

I'm very happy about the EE. They added more Eowyn and Faramir stuff, which always perks me up. Houses of the Healing is loooooverly but not long enough, alas.

I don't remember if I watched the whole EE yet... I know I watched the first half right after the holidays... but can't remember if I finished it (my tummy was rather ucky that night)... got vacation coming up in April, might watch it all bac kto back then (maybe if my Parents come to visit, they might like to watch it too)...

oh, and I'm back from my forced hiatus of 2 days (LJ and email withdrawal SUCKS!!!)

The older LED digital sclaes at my last job didn't round up or down,really-168 would've been 168 until it crossed over to 169. No ounces or decimal point on the scale. Yours may be different. Scott

I don't presume to give too much advice to people unless I know they want it, but adding moderate weight training for those extra twenty minutes instead of the tradmill will make that scale weight fall, and will accelerate the shrinking you want in the right places. Anyway, feel free to ask kitchengrrl or myself if you like.
