+3: We had hail late last night at MurkNorth around midnight, which was odd and kind of cool. I saw a lightning flash outside, heard a thunderclap, and then this rain of pea-sized hail started pelting the patio. Apparently it was quite the hailstorm, too. A considerable amount of it was left on the ground as of this morning when solarbird took me in to work.

+/-4: My cat has taken to meowing at me in the morning for no apparent reason. I suspect this may be because she wants me off the bed so she can take over. I suspect this because when she did it this morning, once I finally hauled myself into consciousness and got moving, Polly promptly sprawled on the foot of the bed and showed absolutely no sign of interest in moving.

Yes, how dare you sleep on her bed. I will however, gladly trade you the three dogs I have who must have the same animal-rights lawyer as your cat.

*snicker* As much as I like doggies, I'll keep the cat. ;) We really aren't in a good place for doggies, not unless they're tiny doggies--we have no fence around our yard, so we'd have to keep them in the house. That's just asking for trouble. :)

Hail is cool... I remember once last fall/winter(2003-2004) I had gone into Dollar Tree to get a few things, and when I got out, there was 1/2 inch of hail all over the roads, and cars... was rather neat (except for the part where I got pelted with it)

Well, like I said--working on a Saturday isn't all that bad if I'm getting paid overtime for it. :)

The really cool part of the hail was the thunder and lighting prelude. Brief, but rather attention-getting!

And you know, you're bigger than the cat. Kick him off the bed if he gets annoying. You ARE capable of moving him. :)

Yeah, I won the alphasmart. It's been getting a lot of use lately, in fact. Some of it even on my alleged novel in progress.
You may not realize but from the position of someone nowhere near submitting, it's exciting to read your efforts, manuscript out and all.
I see in another entry you were watching Lagaan. I enjoy Bollywood films a lot, though it can be a challenge to clear three hours to watch one. I have a few dvds, maybe a half dozen and I just ordered Masti. I am taken with the video for the single, which is just sweet and fun.

Glad to hear that you've been putting that device to good use--and I'm gratified to know that I can give anyone even a little bit of inspiration. :) I consider it almost a duty, after all the help and inspiration that mizkit has given me!

I didn't get to watch all of Lagaan, as it happened. But I'm hoping to correct that in a few more weeks, maybe, after mamishka and I get done watching our weekly dose of episodes off the Firefly DVD set. :)

Re 3: we had hail last night, too, but it happened twice! Once was around dinner time, and then again around midnight -- right before we lost power.

Twice in one weekend, though, is a tad annoying: I thought I left that behind when I moved out of central Maine. :-)

Heh! I've noticed the power isn't quite as stable in Kenmore as we had it in the U-district, either. We've had at least one power outage recently, and the lights have flickered noticeably a few times since we've been in this new house.

I was expecting more power crankiness, actually, given what I'd heard from other Bothell friends last winter, but I guess we haven't had the weather to provoke that yet. It's been a weird winter.
