+1: Courtesy offlashfire, here is a link to the scoop on why LJ went down. It's full of heavy geek talk. :) But the short form is, somebody pressed a button at Internap that shouldn't have been pressed. Also, much in-depth geekery is provided as to why it took so long to come back up.
+/-2: I swear I'm going through Great Big Sea withdrawal when I find myself thinking that one of the drivers of the busses I take in the morning looks like a fat version of Bob Hallett. However, I am not in a position to determine whether he can play the fiddle.
+/-3:spazzkat came over last night to join us for dinner, and to team up with solarbird to find old pictures of our trip to Hawai'i in 2000, so's to scan them in. (Paul's been all about the playing with iPhoto and iDVD lately.) The part where I come in is that they found a postcard I'd bought for my brother and his family, and which I'd never fregging mailed. LAME! I'd written a note on it and started addressing it, but never gotten the stupid thing in the mail. Dara and Paul thought I should go ahead and mail it, and then feign surprised when they ask me I've been to Hawai'i lately. But the Kenmore postmark WOULD kind of give the matter away. ;)
-4: The network is acting wonky in my lab. This is making it annoying to try to reach the various test servers by remote from my own machine. I might have to, like, y'know, GET UP and go five benches down the way and actually work with the machines directly, but I'm LAZY!
-4a: Well, okay, maybe it's just that one box. Grf.
