And I have no rejection letter from Tor. My next milestone of waiting has been achieved. Next up: the three-month mark, to be immediately followed thereafter by my birthday. Because I'd like to avoid a rejection letter on that auspicious occasion.

I am hoping that this means I've made it past whatever initial "is this book readable enough to pass on up the chain?" filter might be in place on Tor's slush pile. And that it's late enough after their office move that I can safely assume I'm past any delay that might have caused. (I shall try not to think about whether they might have misplaced my manuscript in the move. ;) )

Now to finish up balancing the checkbooks and doing other chore-type stuff before I dive back into editing my way through the third draft!

Good luck! I've recently sent in my manuscript for Evolutions in to the Writer's of the Future contest. It's my first step before sending in Society of Night and Lies to either Baen or Tor.

Berkeley Books must not have any editors, if the new Laurell K. Hamilton book is any proof (no, I didn't buy it).

BOOK REVIEW COMING, THOUGH

Is Tanya Huff on Tor, or am I talking out of my buttocks again?

Still rooting for you, of course. Who did you send it to, again? Which editor, I mean?
