+0: New Friend on the Friends list! Welcome to [livejournal.com profile] silme711, fellow Russell Crowe fan, who has a habit of posting yummy strings of pictures of Mr. Crowe over on her journal. Also, of interest to Germans and Germanophiles, she's in Germany! ^_^

+1: Attention Kentuckians (especially you, [livejournal.com profile] wildshadowstar): [livejournal.com profile] solarbird and I are coming to Lexington to visit over the Christmas holidays, from 12/21 until 12/29. So if you want to see us, sing out while supplies last! We're anxious to see my family there, since we haven't laid eyes on 'em since Dad passed away in 2001. And my little brother has had two extra kids since then, and my little sister's got her new baby, too! Now, I'll just have to figure out which instrument I'll be able to take on an airplane trip.

+2: In between editing Chapters 4 and 5 of Faerie Blood's third draft last night (which is proceeding nicely), I wandered around the house doing assorted chore-type stuff. I mention this because I was listening to the iPod at the time, and singing at the top of my lungs along with the best tracks off of Something Beautiful*. Much to my satisfaction, I held out the last note of "John Barbour" along with the lovely and talented Séan McCann. Yes indeed, my voice appears to not only be back, it's improved. However, that last note is a killer; anybody who claims Séan has lost vocal power since GBS's earlier days when he first recorded "General Taylor" is on crack.

I was disappointed Monday night: I caught the last 342 home, but nobody else got off the 245 to get on it. :-(

I'm sure Gazerwolf wouldn't mind you gals stopping by our place to meet the rugrats. We'll probably be busy the 24th and early 25th, but I'm off work that week and the boys will be on spring break.

Do you need a hotel room for any of those dates? The Radisson should be slow that week, I'd be happy to see about getting you a friends & family rate. (That's usually $49/night plus 12.36% taxes, down from our standard $179.)

They ask us to request reservations at least two weeks ahead of time, though since we're nearly dead empty that time of year they may be okay with shorter notice.

Shouldn't be too much of a problem, since that's where I've slept when I've gone over to spend the night. I don't know what my work schedule is past December 2 as of right now, but I'll let you know ASAP. I'll even see if Sarah wants to swing by sometime so you won't have to make multiple all over Kentucky.

Not a problem.

Hell... if your brother falls through. We have an air mattress.

Can't say for sure, but I doubt Aunt Eileen would have a problem with you staying with us in Gravel Switch, that is if Tanya isn't in at that time, although, I could sleep upstairs for the duration even if Tanya was in if necessary since I have a full size bed now. That's one great thing about our house, we're used to many, many people staying over and can accomodate several people, just a matter of reshuffling. Also, can't speak for definite for Sarah, but ditto for her also not caring, since I know they have a spare bedroom. Sarah and Daniel's house is a three bedroom house, one is theirs, one is the baby's and they have a spare. Bardstown is really out of the way from Lexington and Gravel Switch isn't much better, but if you don't want to spend the money on a motel/hotel and wouldn't mind the drive, that's another option. Since EKU isn't that far from Marc's place, I could escort you by and show you what dorm I live in. I'd show you my room, but I think the school will be totally shut down at that point like they're gonna be for Thanksgiving break and not let anyone in the dorms for whatever reason.
