According to posts by catrysa, who is quoting the the Weather Channel, Ivan is coming back to smack Texas and Louisianna as a tropical storm. I am flabbergasted. That is one HELL of a determined storm! If I weren't a heathen, and I were a Southerner, I'd be wondering what the hell my states did to piss off the Powers That Be!

*nodnodnod* Yeah. It's because of all the weather ick down there that I'm rather relieved at this point that lyricae and tinlail didn't wind up moving down to Ft. Lauderdale--because, I mean, DAMN.

yeah, i've a few friends & lj friends who've either just vacated the area, decided to not move there, and whatnots, and i'm thankful. yet at the same time i carry fear & worry for those still there!
there's naught much else i can do, other than that and donating to http://www.redcross.org!

considering their 'warchest' can usually cope w/ 1 - 1.5 disasters, and they've had 4 in quick succession, ummmm.... yeah....

Yeah, I gotta wonder how much of the Red Cross' yearly budget has been slammed by this thing. I mean, I'm sure they deal with natural disasters all over the world on a yearly basis, but this particular area of the world's been so hard hit that I must wonder how much funding they've had to divert from other areas--or perhaps even more depressingly, how much funding they haven't been able to divert because other areas need it just as much. Meh!

they're HURTING massively in the funds department right now... MASSIVELY
