The weird behavior I had noticed, answering LJ comments in email and not getting the expected "Your comment was successfully posted" type message popping up in a browser window, was apparently neither the fault of LJ nor of SP2. It was the fault of my installing Office 2000 and then Outlook 2002 on this new box--apparently I needed to install the latest Office service pack to fix a known bug with Outlook 2002 not properly handling HTML content. I found the issue by doing, of all things, a search in the "Help and Support" engine right off the Start Menu in XP. The amazing things you discover when you actually read the documentation. ;)
