A friend of mine NOT on LJ who is pursuing a writing career--in fact, one of the former club leaders of the Telgar Weyr Pern club I was in--has gotten her first novel sold to a Canadian press, and it's due to come out in August of this year. She is going through Dragon Moon Press, who are a Canadian press, and her book is The Magister's Mask.
