1) A house for
solarbird and
risu and
mamishka and me which allows us to live in a nicely wooded area which is nevertheless near Stuff, which allows me to commute to wherever I'm working without too much headache, and which permits us to not be surrounded by people who give Dara shit for taking graffiti off OUR OWN FENCE.
1a) Actually, I'd like us to stay in the U-district and for all the student idiots to stop being idiots, but that's not likely to happen as long as the U-dub is staffed by monkeys.
2) For the guy who interviewed me this morning to relay to his team, "Y'know that chick I talked to on the phone this morning? We should hire her."
3) For that gallery Dara met with to hang her art.
4) Bush out of office.
5) Tor to contact me and say, "Y'know those first three chapters and synopsis you sent us? We must have the rest of the book. NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW."
6) To sing like Heather Alexander.
6a) I would also be happy singing like a female version of Alan Doyle or Séan McCann.
6b) I would also like to play violin like Heather Alexander.
6c) Or Bob Hallett.
7) To play bouzouki and mandolin like Alan Doyle.
7b) Or Bob Hallett.
8) To play bodhran like Séan.
9) For my jamming group to start playing again.
10) Another Jack Aubrey/Stephen Maturin movie with Crowe and Bettany reprising their roles.
11) 30 Odd Foot of Grunts to tour again and Russell bringing his violin this time.
12) For the young visionary George to escape from within the body of the old Darth Lucas in which he is evidently now imprisoned, as this is the explanation Dara and I have settled upon for why the new Star Wars trilogy sucks.
13) Another book by Doranna Durgin along the lines of A Feral Darkness, and the Robin McKinley, Tami Hoag, and Kristen Britain books I'm waiting on to come out in paperback.
14) To have enough time and energy in the day to write brilliant fantasy and SF novels, learn Scots and Irish Gaelic, master all of the instruments patiently waiting for my attention, smooch the lifemate, and pet the cat.
15) Another Great Big Sea concert. Yes, I know I just had one. I want one where the sound doesn't suck, preferably at Stanley Park in Vancouver. ;)
16) A sexy, tousle-haired, bouzouki-wielding Newfoundlander to appear on our porch and inquire of me and Dara, "How'd you like me to father your children?" And he doesn't even have to be Alan Doyle, though that would be a plus.
17) A chocolate cupcake.

Date: 2004-06-03 01:51 pm (UTC)Nicely wooded area. Nobody gives us shit, because all the neighbors act like all the other neighbors don't exist. Commute isn't a pain because I DON'T GO ANYWHERE. And we're near Stuff, if Stuff means "antique stores and swamps good for stalking red-winged blackbirds".
I'd like to have a ten foot tall fence, though.

Date: 2004-06-03 02:21 pm (UTC)C'mon, our taxes are lower up here. YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO
Plus, you could teach my kid music and Dara could teach my kid Japanese and art and I could hit the bars!
Yeah, that's the ticket!

Date: 2004-06-04 12:17 pm (UTC)Ahem. Not that I'm bitter or anything, mind you.
And I think Dara wants to be nearer to a bit more Stuff than that. ;) If she were now a famous sculpter and I a famous writer, we could cozily move out to be near nothing but antique stores and blackbirds, but we're not quite to that point yet!

Date: 2004-06-03 02:08 pm (UTC)I really liked Green Rider so I'm eager for First Rider's Call. I should in fact re-read Green Rider to get ready!
And I'm a sucker for a good Tami Hoag. I haven't read anything new by her in some time!
