OKAY, no, this is NOT acceptable
May. 20th, 2004 07:48 pmFeeling a little off-kilter tonight. Been uncharacteristically sniffly; my sinuses seem to be acting up. I am not sure whether this is due to something being shaken loose by either my chiropractic adjustments the last few days or by my massage treatment. Liz did ask me in the middle of it whether my sinuses were being affected; this kind of thing seems to happen.
All I know is, this had BETTER not be a herald of me getting ill, because the Newfoundlanders are going to be here in LESS THAN 48 HOURS. And it's very difficult to engage in Vertical Movement when you have to sneeze, y'know?
Drinking a lot of water tonight, and planning to get a LOT of sleep and relaxation. The GOOD thing about feeling a little off-kilter is that the last couple of mornings I have awakened with this feeling as if I've gotten more sleep on a deep, fundamental level than I have in some time, as if some exhausted parts of me have finally gotten some rest. And if I have to, I will by gods whip out the Sudafed or the Benadryl. Because nothing, repeat, NOTHING, repeat, NOTHING is going to keep me from dancing, singing, and clapping, in as close proximity to Alan The Doyle as I can manage, on Saturday night!

Date: 2004-05-20 09:52 pm (UTC)(This HAS happened before--I have uttered Actual Words to the Actual Alan--but boy, it was hard to tell my brain 'Okay, calm, peace, there is absolutely NOTHING TERRIFYING in being three feet away from a guy who can stun you unconscious with his charisma and his talent and his looks'... ;) )
And I'm trying very hard not to think too terribly much about how this IS the last show on the tour lineup, according to the schedule the last time I looked, which would lead an observant fan to wonder about the possibility of the B'ys being willing to hang out a while in Seattle after the show... they HAVE set foot in a local pub before! That was after the last time they were here!

Date: 2004-05-20 09:58 pm (UTC)He is very interesting and as much as I heard that he is the less talkative one, I could not shut him up. I had to ditch him (didn't do it on purpose but some hot guy was flirting with me at the bar). All I know of Bob's impression about that talk is that he said: it was an interesting conversation... and when my friend told him my name (I was too drunk to introduce myself) he said: Oh! The girl with the accent...
ironic...

Date: 2004-05-20 10:16 pm (UTC)I am desperate to actually ask either Alan or Bob how they tune their bouzoukis. In the alternate fantasy world in which I can actually speak to gorgeous Newfoundlanders whose musical talent I admire and covet without sounding like a blithering idiot, I ask them which tuning they prefer and how they might choose to tune their zouks if they had little bitty hands like mine!
