Putty, the SSH/telnet client, has been ported to the PocketPC OS. I just put it onto my frob, and logged onto lodestone using it. HEE!

Now I'll be able to use the thing to log into the Murk anywhere I can get onto a wireless connection. I am liking this a lot.

i'm glad you found a device within your budget that meets your needs. but why is it called a "frob"?

Hee! That's a bit of esoteric slang that solarbird and I learned from lyonesse when she used to be our housemate. Basically, a 'frob' is any 'small, cool, useful device'.

I always heard that it was short for "fun random object."

Hrmm. Have I heard that? I think I have. But I don't quite buy that definition, just because it doesn't cover the 'useful and cool' aspects. ;) Also, it doesn't cover "device". Not all random, fun objects are frobs!

For example, the little thingies that came in the poppers we all popped last New Year's Eve were both fun and random, but were not frobs!
