Tonight's words

annathepiper... are a little short tonight, but hey, it was a bit of a complicated evening. Plus, this is a bit of a complicated book, as I have discussed with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
boudiccathered. I'm having to work slowly through figuring out exactly what I want to have happen and how I want to say it, for whatever reason. It feels harder than writing Faerie Blood was and I haven't figured out why yet. I have a vague suspicion it might have to do with me starting to write a story that has to do with Faanshi, a character in whom I had a huge emotional investment that never did get properly worked out in my brain... but that's only a suspicion. I am not sure if I will be able to confirm or deny it till I get further into the story.
Jenesek on Two Moons and I had a nice chat this afternoon about The Lord of the Rings as well as about him beta-reading FB for me; he is, or so he reports, up to Chapter 22 on his initial read-through. Right now he's doing the 'enjoy the story phase' before he does 'critique the story'. He hasn't actually said yet whether he is in fact overall enjoying the story, but I can hope. ;)
In related news, I also touched bases with Cynara's old player from Aether and have had the pleasure of yakking with her about what's going on in our respective lives, as well as exchanging the obligatory Kai/Benja nostalgia. She's doing part-time editing, as it turns out, and ALSO wants to read FB. I'll see if I can get her permission to adapt Benja, because the more I think about it, the more I suspect I could milk an SF version of their story out of my brain. :D
