Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, indeed. Nobody, but nobody, but NOBODY has any business denying queer folks the right to marry, but especially not when they do not also condemn straight folks who show no respect for the institution of marriage.
Where is this ardent defense of the sanctity of marriage when so many marriages fall apart every year? Where was it when my straight father went through four marriages? Where was it when my straight mother went through two?

Date: 2004-02-07 06:22 am (UTC)In the circles condeming same sex marriage annulled means "It never happened" not "it was a bad idea." They won't see the hypocrisy of ignoring her marriage because in the eyes of thier religion she never was married.
sigh (of course that shouldn't keep people from throwing her marriage at them....maybe it will work with some of them)
