... I would be after hearing the tail end of tonight's State of the Union address over the radio. I wanted to throw up, and I did actually cry, after hearing our President say with one breath how marriage is only for "a man and a woman" and then in the next go on about what a wonderfully caring and supportive country we're supposed to be.

Way to make me feel like a second-class citizen, George. If America's supposed to be all about the care and the support, I sure as hell ain't feelin' the love here.

If there is any justice in this world, he will get kicked to the curb in November. I become irritable just seeing his picture or hearing his voice on the radio or TV. I want that man GONE, and never to be heard from or seen again.

I think it might be slightly better if he carries the Deep South, Texas, Utah and Idaho, but loses every other state. A more eloquent "Fuck the South" would hard to imagine.

I mean if we're gonna dream, we may as well do it right.

Right.

Despite what one might conclude from geography, Florida is, in fact, not part of the Deep South --- well okay, northern Florida might be but they're pretty well outnumbered by Orlando + everything further south. Miami & vicinity might as well be a suburb of NYC. The only reason the state is such a tossup has to do with the southern part of the state having its share of retirees that are fairly well off plus the population of Cubans that still have JFK dartboards hanging over their fireplaces even though 1963 was 40 years ago. Meaning there's a goodly number of people there with their own reasons for voting Republican which don't have a whole lot to do with the Bible-belt nutheads in the panhandle.

I have reason to believe Democrat turnout in Florida is going to be much higher this time around.

No kiddin'. I was listening to NPR the other day and they were saying that when Bush is put up against a 'generic Democrat,' polls come out fairly even, or maybe even a little in favor of Mr. Generic. However, when one of the SPECIFIC Democratic candidates is put up against Bush, Bush fares much better. Still looking for Mr. Generic, I guess...
