More writing geeking
Jan. 16th, 2004 03:53 pmHrmm. If I keep up this writing thing I may have to make a separate weblog just for writing geeking.
Slow day at work today, so I poked around on google trying to find out what SF/F publishers are accepting unsolicited manuscripts. Tor and Daw seem to be the notable ones I could find, so I'll have to keep them in mind for later.
Judicious exploration of
mizkit's professional site revealed to me a couple other potentially useful URL's, particularly of an agency that accepts query letters by email. Yes, Kit, when I'm not shamelessly hitting you up for clues, I'm shamelessly hitting up your site for clues. ;)
Not that I need to be worrying about ANY of this yet, when I need to focus on finishing the damn book.
Also got me another volunteer beta reader off the GBS board. Specifically, a beta reader who lives in St. John's, which is good. Because 1) the hero of my story is a Newfoundlander, and I want him reality-checked by someone who is either a Newfoundlander or who lives among them, and 2) if this story turns into a trilogy there is a non-zero possibility that the cast will wind up in St. John's eventually.

Date: 2004-01-17 12:19 pm (UTC)And you're quite welcome to look at the book and reality-check Christopher for me, as well as any other aspect of it--whether that be any of the character portrayals, the continuity of the plot, my spelling and grammar, or anything else you think is worth bringing to my attention.
Email me--my address is listed on my User Info page, viewable by everybody on my Friends list. I'll send you the URL to the story and the username and password required to access it.
