Elf needs new LJ icon, badly
Dec. 16th, 2003 01:36 pmSo I'm tired of looking at Dewshine on my LJ. I mean, she's cute and all but I'd like something that says "me" a bit more. Ergo, I am putting out a request to my artistically-inclined friends: would any of you be willing to draw me an LJ icon? I can provide links to pictures of me for those who aren't actually local to me. ^_^
In exchange I will offer you an act of creativity of your choice: a) a sonnet, b) you get a cameo in a story, c) a filk song.
P.S. Extra bonus points for icons that exemplify my most common moods! (Yes, I can see an anime frizzy-haired, hat-wearing, pointed-eared Anna with a cloud of little pink hearts around her head now... ;) )

Date: 2003-12-20 11:35 am (UTC)I've only written about a dozen songs, some of which I'm quite proud of ("How Many Hugos?" and "Ride Upon the Wyvern", primarily), and some of which were just silly. I have a couple other song ideas rolling around in my head that I hope to get to at some point, though!

Date: 2003-12-20 08:49 pm (UTC)I haven't been updating my page a lot lately. Of course, this assumes it's the right (http://www.geocitites.com/wingkitty) Geocites page.
I've been writing for about ten years though, wow, that's scary. More like nine, but still. I didn't get a big burst of it until about five years ago. They sort-of trickle in slowly most of the time. Though occassionally I get a bunch together.

Date: 2003-12-20 10:24 pm (UTC)I didn't actually get a chance to read the lyrics to any of the songs, but I am curious... do you find that you filk extant songs more often, or do you write original songs as well?
So far of the songs that I have written, the two that I mentioned in the comment above are the ones I'm happiest with because they are ones I wrote myself and didn't base off of some other song. One of my side goals that I want to accomplish in between writing is to get comfortable enough on my stringed instruments that I can write melodies as well as lyrics. :) I have enough chords now that I can begin to try to make connections in my head as to which ones sound good together in what order, but it's only barely beginning to come together for me!

Date: 2003-12-17 12:33 pm (UTC)Something involving playing a flute would also be appropriate for musicgeeking... I'd say something involving playing one of my stringed instruments would be MORE appropriate, except that that would probably be harder to fit into the requisite picture size.
*giggle* And as I mentioned--something involving me looking swoony would also be appropriate, given how often I post swoony things to this journal. ;)
I like your anime style drawings! So that would be lovely. Alternately, something Wendy-Pini-esque.
I like colored pencils; I like watercolors.
