Tonight's word count

2,012 in the chapter... 52,513 total! I got another burst of my brain going "GOTTA WRITE! GOTTA WRITE! Gotta get the words out NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW"... because I've been working on the same scene for the past three days now, and after the pace of November this feels oddly slow! But my brain is also going, "Um, no, actually, you don't need to do everything tonight! You can pace yourself now! Remember that whole lower gear concept?"

So I compromised with myself, and wrote about 300 extra words. Bed now!

In general I recommend not messing too hard with the writing spurts. You'll possibly hit days where you won't be able to write (though I suspect your experience will be akin to that funny Stephen King skit I often retell, from SNL I think ...) but in general if the muse is saying "GOTTA WRITE!" let her go at it. ;) Consider the 500 words a day "cap" to be your "desired" goal, not your "required" goal.

Heh! In general I do agree with you, though right now I'm not sure how much of this is my muse trying to bang me over the head, and my brain still being in Nanowrimo gear. I'll see how things settle a bit over the next few days... I may wind up with a daily higher word count than the goal, which'd be grand. Or maybe I'll be able to up my daily goal.

Yay Anna! And yeah, don't stop when you hit your cap if you've still got words in you and time to write 'em. :) I was aiming for 1K this morning and got 1800! Yay! :)

Heh! I am juggling multiple concerns now as I wanted to do web work last night as well, but my muse made me keep Chapter 15 open, and slap more words into it before bed. :) Congrats on 1800 words though! :)

or maybe even the day before,

because, you see,
you've left ME hanging here at the end of Chapter 14
and that, I tell you, is simply intolerable
