Tonight's word count
Dec. 1st, 2003 11:28 pmYeah, I know Nanowrimo is over now, but the book isn't! So I'm shifting down into that lower gear I was talking about in earlier posts and comments; my new goal is now to see if I can write 500 words a day until the book is done, on the theory that this should still be a doable number of words and also leave me time enough to do other things that I want to get done now. (E.g., the Telgar Weyr website, e.g., random little tasks for Two Moons, etc.)
Chapter 15 is now underway and I'm into it by 600 words, which puts my current word count at 51,101.
Off to bed!

Date: 2003-12-02 12:47 pm (UTC)Trying to figure out things like how many more chapters I think I've got, too, based on my outline notes. But I've found that I invariably write more than I originally plan for a chapter... so I could have anywhere between 6 and 10 more chapters. And if I have roughly 3K per chapter... that's another 18 to 30K.... which should put me into the ballpark range of 70-80K. HRmRmRmRmRmrmRm!

Date: 2003-12-02 01:46 pm (UTC)I am as we speak sneaking in extra words between running automated tests. Let's hear it for computer scripts.
I think this whole "pretend like I'm roleplaying a MUSH scene" mindset is definitely helping me make with the words. The only difference is that now I don't have other people dropping their jaws at my novella-length opening poses. :D
