The annual Murkworks Homeless Waifs Thanksgiving Day Turkeyfest was a success! And also bigger than we've had it in a while, courtesy of having a good sixteen people show up. Attendance included the traditional core Murkworks of myself, [livejournal.com profile] solarbird, [livejournal.com profile] mamishka, and [livejournal.com profile] spazzkat; [livejournal.com profile] flashfire who is making it a personal tradition to come up and see us every year around now; [livejournal.com profile] kingchiron and [livejournal.com profile] darthhellokitty; Tony who had attended Mimi's pirate party and who brought his wife Ann with him; Liz, my LMP, who brought a couple of her boyfriends with her (Matt and [livejournal.com profile] pauldf); [livejournal.com profile] ssha who we finally got to see again, and who updated us on what's been going on with her medical situation; Fred from Jam, who quite delightfully is sporting a beard these days and who showed up in a denim kilt, and who brought his brother Chris with him (also wearing a kilt); and [livejournal.com profile] snout who I barely said two words to but I was sort of distracted!

Attractions of the evening included Mimi's traditional balloon animals, which went over very well as many of our attendees had not yet been introduced to the Balloon Animal Alien; several rounds of You Don't Know Jack, on which I got my ass soundly kicked, but on which I did at least manage to finish with a positive score after having a good round of luck with the Jack Attack round; several rounds of Bubble Crack (including what is fast becoming the annual face-off between Meems and James); a great deal of conversation; showing what's left of The Claw to [livejournal.com profile] pauldf; and my managing to squeeze out enough paragraphs to finish off Chapter 12.

As per usual we have scads of leftovers. As per unusual, however, several of us in the Murk have determined that we did not in fact eat nearly as much as we often do! We have a whole bunch of cookies left over.

Mmmmm. Cookies.

Flashfire tells me of endless duels of Tam Tams...

I have unending chants of cute little worshipers going through my poor foxy head now.

Aiee!

Thanks so much for having us over, we had a great time.

Wonderful tasty food, fun and interesting people, and just a cool atmosphere in general!

That's right, we haven't been to thanksgiving there for half a decade, but our influence still lives on! ;)

[livejournal.com profile] ssha who we finally got to see again, and who updated us on what's been going on with her medical situation

Is there a publically repeatable version for the benefit of those of us who didn't get to go? she hasn't updated her own LJ for two months ....

I couldn't recount what was said because I didn't hear the whole story, but she looked like she was doing all right to me. I did catch that it seems she doesn't have much 'net access to speak of these days, though.

I ordered a bunch of Tim Tams from Everything Australian (http://www.everythingaustralian.com") (Go! Buy!) about a week before coming up here, but the shipment didn't get to the house until Monday or Tuesday of this week.

And don't forget the backing chorus of the entire room while we were having our Tam Tam battle!

That would be Everything Australian (http://www.everythingaustralian.com), of course...

Tim Tams! I didn't know there was a place to get them in these crazy shores. Haven't had 'em since James of Australia last flew in. :)

I go buy now.

For a good price, too! Much better than importing from overseas!
