TODAY IS THE DAY

Master and Commander is out, but since I can hardly go and ogle Captain Crowe without mamishka (ogling Captain Crowe is a multi-woman job, doncha know) and she is going to Orycon, I can't go see it at least until next week!

I will now attempt to hold my breath until next week gets here or until I turn blue and start seeing Russell, whichever comes first.

And oh yeah, if anybody is the slightest bit interested in seeing this thing with me, even if mostly for the amusement value of seeing me swoon, you should like, let me know or something. ^_^

I strongly want to see this movie. It's almost inconcievable that it won't be fabulous - Ebert & Roeper predicted another Best Actor nomination for your boy Russ.

Which is no guarantee, what with me living on the eastside, that any plans would be convenient for me, and don't bother trying to schedule around me or anything, but if you let me know when and where, there's a non-zero chance that I'll show up. :-)

I've only seen a few reviews quoted, but from what I've been hearing, the vast majority of the reviews are glowing indeed. :) And lots of buzz about potential Oscar material, yeah!

We'll see what happens about a plan. I'll check show times and places it's playing next week!

uhm, well ... Russell was quite marvelous, but now i remember why i don't normally watch war movies either in the theatre or on TV. gah. the battle scenes were quite authentic, including ALL the messy parts. darthfrog was suitably impressed, and is merrily waiting for the special extended-edition DVD with all the behind-the-scenes stuff.

i told him that he and our companion of the afternoon (his best man) could go to any sequels without me.

I have just one question: did they have the scene with the good Captain all shirtless and wet climbing back up onto the boat? I hear tell from another Crowe fan friend of mine they cut that OUT! (In which case that'll be MY reason for getting the DVD. >:) )

Duly noted about the nitty gritty fightin' stuff! I'll keep that in mind. :)
