-1: Only made it up to 10,351 words last night, which means that I lost most of my buffer... though I am still a little ahead of the bare minimum daily word count required to hit the goal. I am hoping to make up for lost words over the weekend!
+2: The drop in word count was entirely the fault of being distracted by two back to back episodes of Angel. Which has been surprisingly good this season. In no small part due to Spike joining the cast, but also because the writers have fixed a whole lot of what got broken in the last couple of seasons. We keep forgetting to watch the episodes when they actually air, but thanks to the power of Tivo, this isn't a problem!
+3: Really grooving on having a Celtic instrumentals playlist on my iPod. It lets me listen to music on the way to and from work and think about my story without being distracted by the lyrics in my ears.
+4: Also grooving on the cold weather and seeing frost and ice on the grass and sidewalks when I get up to walk to the bus stop in the morning. Now if we'd just start getting some snow, it might actually seem like winter.
-/+5: Had a partial workout last night. Partial because I desperately wanted to write, but workout because I really needed it. I'll have to make up for it by a full workout on Saturday. The good news is, pretty comfy on several exercises with the eights. The bad news is, these exercises do not include Bicep Curls, and my wrist was pretty shaky last night trying to make it through 40 Wrist Curls with the five-pounder.

Date: 2003-11-07 10:47 am (UTC)I will admit I like colder weather more than hotter weather. Sweaters and scarves and other happy knitted things! Yay!

Date: 2003-11-07 12:37 pm (UTC)Me, I dig cold weather for cups of hot chocolate and warm flannel blankets. And, of course, the snow. Though if Dara and I go to Kentucky for December holidays as we are planning, my money's on our only snow of the season being while we're gone. ;P

Date: 2003-11-07 11:32 am (UTC)I got way more enjoyment out of the final Buffy season than I did out of last season of Angel.

Date: 2003-11-07 01:05 pm (UTC)And last season’s Angel started out so-so and ended up great, which beats the heck out of last season’s Buffy, which started out great, dragged on boringly, and finished up with a lot of flash and smash and not much that actually meant anything. By the time it was over I was just glad to be done with it.

Date: 2003-11-07 01:21 pm (UTC)And then there's the season 1 episode from Angel, the crossover where Buffy comes down to L.A., Angel is made human by that demon's blood, and the whole situation has to be wiped out of existence. Buffy's face crumpling up as she tells him she can feel his heart beating, the last five minutes before time is about to reset... and the look on Angel's face too... totally sold me. :)
Though, granted, I'll also state that I really also liked Spike's chemistry with Buffy for a completely different set of reasons.
But I'll have to just cope with disagreeing with you about Buffy's last season. ;) There were bits that didn't work for me in it... but throughout all of last year, pretty much, I found myself way more eager to see Buffy than Angel. I anticipated Buffy enough to actually watch most of the episodes when they aired, vs. not really caring much when Angel came on... modulo sitting up and taking notice at the arrival of Jasmine just because she was just that damned good. ;)

Date: 2003-11-07 01:56 pm (UTC)For example, feral Angel's first moment of cognizance, blurting, "Buffy?" and then dropping to his knees, grabbing onto her, and sobbing against her. Sniffle. And the shots of the two of them together doing the Tai Chi movements.
Second season: Angel in Angelus mode STILL being obsessed with Buffy... and then in the finale, when his soul comes back and he grabs onto her and blurts that he feels like he hasn't seen her in months.
And I think it's also second season when Angel takes her to the ice rink, and they're jumped by one of the assassins from the House of Whatsits. And Angel vamps out as he's fighting, and then is embarrassed that Buffy sees him that way. And she doesn't flinch as she promptly smooches him.
A whole slew of tender moments all over the first three seasons, all of them building up for me to make me buy the connection between these two. Whereas, by contrast, I didn't see this kind of buildup between Angel and Cordy; it was more like, "Okay, suddenly Cordy's a champion and Angel loves her? WTF?"

Date: 2003-11-07 01:05 pm (UTC)And about your buffer--don't feel too bad because, well, you've used it for what it was for, and I'm confident you'll build another one this weekend, you're amazing!! Can hardly wait to read the results.
Snow. ICK. Cold. ICK. As soon as is feasible, I'm moving to Hawaii. Where it will be 80 degrees in Hilo while I watch snow accumulate on Mauna Kea. That's my idea of perfect.

Date: 2003-11-07 01:11 pm (UTC)Hehehehehehehe.
And I REALLY loved that exchange between Spike and Angel three episodes ago. Angel: "I liked your poetry." Spike, rolling his eyes: "YOU liked Barry Manilow!" ;)
As for reading, um, well, *shuffles foot*, Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 are on my web page under password protection if you wanna see 'em.

Date: 2003-11-07 01:31 pm (UTC)Dammit, now next time I do my workout I'm going to be thinking of that bit in the M&C trailer where Crowe/Aubrey bellows "Ready.... FIRE!" every time I do a rep of an exercise...
Ahem. Er. Not that I'm not already replaying both M&C trailers in their entirety in my brain on a semi-regular basis! *^_^*
