Not that this is interesting to anybody but me, but well hey--it makes me feel vaguely more productive if I actually make a note of what I've been doing. Soooo....

Tuesday:

  1. Got up this morning to discover that the CD I'd tried to have write last night had given me ANOTHER error message, so I tried to start yet another attempt at writing the same damn CD...

  2. Discovered Dar had brought the dirty laundry that I'd left down in the basement overnight back up here, thinking it was clean. Oops.

  3. Had a weights workout because I needed it. Though for some reason I can't fathom, my handheld computer keeps insisting on reformatting cells in my workout spreadsheet to be date format when they're just supposed to be number, comma, number. Grf.

  4. Got my sweatshirt, which had acquired an oil stain on the backside due to dangling along my back bike tire yesterday (and which required heavy-duty treatment with Shout and Woolite yesterday to try to get most of the stain out; it is my favorite sweatshirt, too. Sigh), and stuck it back in another Shout/Woolite soak.

  5. Went to the Ave to deposit unemployment check and the first of this round of rent.

  6. Finally put wet sweatshirt and a load of laundry into the wash.

  7. Applied for two jobs on NWClassifieds.com and sent a third resume out via email.

  8. Started one more attempt to write the damn CD since it fell over again, and this time I reset some of the settings to try to make it write out an image to the hard drive first since the Help file said to do that.

  9. Changed the kitty litter, only to discover I needed more. Went to the little store to fetch some.

  10. Finally started on balancing the checkbooks. Only to be majorly distracted when [livejournal.com profile] spazzkat and [livejournal.com profile] solarbird walked in--with the bouzouki from Dusty Strings, which they had jointly bought me. :~) (See previous post as to why Spazz is a god....)

  11. Shortly after being handed the zouk, got a phone call about one of the resumes I'd sent out this afternoon. A recruiter chick from one of the local contract companies wants to meet me on a very informal basis tomorrow, and discuss my background and such. She sounded interested in my various skill sets, so hopefully she'll actually be able to find me a job. Hope.

  12. Played with the zouk for some time, trying to figure out what tuning it ought to be in.

  13. FINALLY figured out how to make the damned CDs burn.

  14. Balanced checkbooks.

  15. Paid bills.

Yesterday:

  1. Got the rest of the CDs burned.

  2. Ran to the bank to deposit rent and to the post office to mail bills and make sure they got postmarked with yesterday's date--important for property taxes and mortgage! Stupid depressing weekend, throwing me off track for paying bills. :P

  3. Receipts dropped off for rent received.

  4. Met with the chick from Chameleon Technologies, at a coffee place in downtown Kirkland. Was the first time I'd been there. It was rather nice; all tree-lined and everything. She was quite amiable and had notes scribbled all over my resume; I'm hoping she'll actually be able to find me something, it'd be a bit of a shame if she went to all that trouble for nothing. I try to take it as a good sign, at any rate.

  5. More playing with the zouk, trying to figure out what tuning I want it in, and beginning to learn various Great Big Sea songs known to include the bouzouki in their instrumental arrangement. Most notably, "Jack Hinks" and "The Night Pat Murphy Died".

  6. Email catchup, and more resumes sent out.

  7. Retrieval of James' file from backup--or at least, the tar file it was in. It had to sit there for a while though as I was burning the CDs.

Today, so far:

  1. Yet more email catchup and resumes sent out.

  2. Found a phone message from a recruiter who'd tried to call this morning at about 8:20 and we'd missed it since the phone in our bedroom has stopped ringing. Tried to call her back and feel like an idiot since I think I screwed up her name, so although I THINK I got the right person, I sounded like a moron on her voicemail, probably. Sigh!

  3. On the other hand, I've also gotten email from the recruiter at Excell that I talked to LAST YEAR before I got the Excell position--he has a nibble for me, from another guy on his team. Hopefully something will come of that.

  4. Tried to get the file James needed out of the relevant tarfile only to have copied it into the wrong place. So now I need to do it again. Guh.

  5. Still to come: need to deposit more rent, write and deliver receipts, and go to the store to do something about the sad, pitiful lack of Mountain Dew in my house.

WOW. You have been productive.
Just. Wow.

While I mope around my house waiting for my boyfriend to call. *wry*

I do know how useful it is to write this stuff out!

And Excell-- is this the company that had you miserable with unpaid overtime?

You go! I'll second the "Wow". That's way more than I accomplish in a given MONTH.

Lots of luck on the job front. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and the Meems both.
