I appear to have had a sudden resurgence of interest in Pern fandom, possibly due to the decline into near-nonexistence of my MUSH activities online.

It seems that the ladies of Telgar Weyr, my former club, are getting interested in doing another issue... though on a sort of 'informal' basis, in theory to try to wrap up a lot of the dangling plot threads we had while we were still regularly active. And now, Smitty, a former member of Telgar, appears to have tempted me into Segel Weyr, and I appear to be amusing the leader of said club greatly with a character concept for an airheaded gold rider, which she seems to be quite willing to let me pursue. Which would make the first time I've ever actually written for/roleplayed a gold rider in Pern fandom, too. You see bitchy gold riders played all the time, or fine upstanding intelligent wonderful blah blah blah women... I thought it'd be worth a giggle to write a gold rider who's just a little bit slow. ;)

Looks like the leader of Segel Weyr agrees with me. This ought to be entertaining.

This vaguely reminds me of an RP game I played with Vicka many years ago, where the gold firelizards (she never met any of the dragons, but they would have been the same) were actually the "dumb blondes" of the universe ... it was the smaller spritely greens that were the real brains. ;-)

I remember that! Heh heh... though in this case, it'll be the rider who's a trifle slow and her dragon who's smart enough to keep them both from getting killed. I'm kinda thinking a female version of Elvis' airheaded character in Follow that Dream, or maybe Delmar in O Brother Where Art Thou? :)

Oh, I daresay Krystlin qualified as the latter, with just enough of a touch of the former to make her keep bronzers on their toes. ;D
