Fun with Seahawks parades!

So as y’all know, the Seahawks won the Super Bowl! And while I’m not a football person, Dara and Paul DO enjoy watching the Hawks. And all three of us wanted to check out the festivities the city had this past Wednesday, throwing a huge parade in honor of the team. My workplace even gave us sanction to be out of the office to be on hand, so we figured, what the hey! Historic street party? SIGN US UP.

[envy] I wasn't brave enough to go (it's over an hour of drive-to-the-Tacoma-Dome-then-take-the-bus ride for me to get from Puyallup to downtown Seattle on a normal day, plus COLD), but I watched a good chunk of it on TV.

My grin muscles are still aching. What an amazing ride this season has been.

Now we've got to wait till next August. It seems really weird to be sitting here on a Sunday afternoon with No Football on TV.

Heh, Dara expressed the whole "it's weird to not have handegg to watch" sentiment to me, too.

And yeah, as far away as you are, it would have been QUITE the adventure for you to get here. Given how it took us three hours to get back to Kenmore, it would have DEFINITELY been an all-day trip for you!

I suspect that had I attempted to go to the parade, one of two things would have happened. Either I'd not have arrived until after the parade was over, or I'd have not gotten back home till the next morning. Possibly both.
