The two weeks after surgery report

It’s now two weeks to the day after my surgery, and at this point I’m feeling almost normal again–for values of “almost” meaning, my energy’s still a little wonky, and also, I think I may be beginning to feel the effects of not having any ovaries anymore.

Glad things are going well. Much empathy about the hot flashes. I went through menopause about three years ago, and I still get them occasionally (not nearly as often as I used to, though).

I'm not even a hundred percent sure I'm experiencing hot flashes yet, or whether I'm experiencing our furnace trying to kick on at night--but I'm slightly inclined to the former, so far. And it's not terribly bothersome at the moment. If this is what I'm to expect out of surgical menopause, I think I can deal.

Though now I'm feeling a rather larger urge to go read catherineldf's fantasy novel about menopausal women turning into werewolves. ;)

ROFL There are times when I wish I could turn into one myself. I've never been able to tell if my irritability is just me or if it's the menopause. I suspect it's just me (I used to get PMS irritability like crazy, too).

I never had PMS too badly, thankfully--just cramps like WHOA the first couple days of the cycle. The only time I've ever been seriously cranky was the first few months after I had my thyroid out, and my hormones were out of whack until I got my dosage of thyroid meds stabilized.

But yeah lol werewolves. :)
