Fast one, before getting started with work

Last day before Writer's Weekend starts, and my last day of work this week. I'm sans managers today--both my regular manager and the de facto QA lead type person whose shoes I will eventually be filling. So I get to manage my work all day today all by myself.

Slowly adjusting to my new schedule as well. Wrote barely ten words last night, but at least I'm getting caught up on my sleep, so I look forward to my muse coming out of hiding some time next week once things get less wacky. I'll write what I can over the weekend, though I expect it to be minimal.

Dell laptop EXPLODES at Japanese conference

This is too good to not post about, and the subject line says it all: a Dell laptop exploded at a Japanese conference. Go look! There are pictures, and they are stunning. I mean, damn.

I hope the poor schmoe whose laptop that was can get another one without too much hassle, and I hope to GODS he had backed up his data. And if it was still on warranty, I feel for whatever poor schmoe had to take the phone call at Dell. How would you like to be the person getting an angry phone call saying, "The laptop you sent me EXPLODED!", huh?
